Alecia, I just tried the scarf this afternoon! Works great! I will have to try the turtleneck still.

I took the one into the tailor today. Hope to have it back within a week. Once he pinned it up above the knee I was especially in heaven - I think it will be my favorite!

Joy, YES - I was thinking animal as well! I've done it with my leopard belt so far. I will need to experiment more. They are all a med-dark wash denim. I'm so loving the versatility already thinking about going back & getting another one or 2 for summer while they have such a good selection!

I'm thinking the possibilities are endless. Thanks to this wonderful site, it really gets the creative juices flowing!

JG, some of your sites spurred a memory of a favorite Eddie Bauer med. wash denim dress I used to have and wore especially in the winter with a red or black cashmere pullover under it and with long black leggings that were actually like a sweater on your legs. So warm and comfortable.
An animal print with the denim would be fun...maybe a cropped leopard or snake cardi or jacket. How about a waistcoat over the dress?
Are your denim dresses different colors of denim?

If you don't have to layer because of the cold, I like the idea of a long scarf over the dress alone with boots. Also, I love the turtleneck under the collared denim shirt look.

Thanks Joy, GREAT idea's! I've been thinking about a plaid shirt/dress also. I saw a really cute one last weekend but it was upper-end for me & I'm not sure how much I'd wear it so I'll have to ponder the choices there first!

Hmmm, I wonder what it would cost for the tailor to make a tie/wrap belt out of the extra he's cutting off the one I'm hemming?! I'm thinking then I could use that on top of longer sweaters that I wear over as well.

I found some other fun images as welll...

And, look at the colors, ring a bell with Angie's forum post's anyone?!

LOL - I came across this also... http://yearofdenim.wordpress.com/about/

How about Denim Shirt Dress + belt + knee high boots + opaque hose or tights + cropped leather jacket?
or Denim Shirt Dress + belt + knee high boots + opaque hose or tights + tartan shirt worn over dress as a jacket + neckline unbuttoned and cami under the dress?

Ok gang, I got some AWESOME finds thrift shopping today!! I think the most versatile are the long-sleeved fitted denim shirt dresses. I picked up 3 of them (they were $5.89 I couldn't resist, 2 Eddie Baur & 1 Ralph Lauren). 1 full length, 1 calf-length, 1 having the tailor hem just above the knee. They are all a medium-dark denim.

Anyway, I'm curious about ways to wear them. I'm thinking something along the lines of Angie's formula's for Mom-on-the-Go. Any idea's? Here's what I have so far...I'm thinking there have got to be many others though??

Denim Shirt Dress + belt + knee high boots + opaque hose or tights + fitted wool jacket

Denim Shirt Dress + belt + knee high boots + opaque hose or tights + sleeveless long sweater

Denim Shirt Dress + belt + knee high boots + opaque hose or tights + heavy wool pull-over sweater

Denim Shirt Dress + leggings + scarf

What else???
