KKards I actually contacted E.F about my issue and they pointed me to these pants. What synchronicty.

I wish they would make the knits in a denim color. I've got over 5 pairs of their blacks. I think the styling on these knits you pointed out are nice. I'll need to try these on to see if the stretch is roomy around the middle.

When I pull two pieces together and button, then I have problems. But it could be that this is all one piece and they are like leggings.

I think you get what I'm looking for. I'm going to try these first. EF usually has a wider band around the top of their pants which lies down without digging like the narrower bands do.

When I have nerve pain, I can't stand to wear anything that hugs the body even remotely close, so a regular jeans cut--even in ponte knit--would be out of the question. And there's something about the waist and thigh area that's particularly problematic. That's why I've sought out looser-fitting pants.

I got some plus sized legging jeans for a friend a few years ago at Macy's. It was the American Rag brand. They don't have any more, too bad, as they look amazing and she wears them all the time.

The Style & Co are the most similar ones I could find.

sandic, you could also go with a 5 pocket ponte pant, not jeans but could be styled like a jean.

I like the JJill. When I lose some weight, these look like they will work. Thank you Betty Crocker and I think Darla mentioned them as well. Sorry I'm not responding to each post, have yet to figure how to do that.

I have the same problem, and have found several pairs of pants from J Jill that are comfortable. I have their side-zip ankle pants (including some in denim). The drawstring jeans I just bought are the best for when I'm experiencing a painful flareup:

Gosh, Thank you.

I'm new here. (joined today) And I didn't expect such a great turnout of suggestions. I appreciate your help. I'm feeling "boosted and wiser"

I checked them all out and now all I have to do is look at the sizing. Some I'll be able to check out offline. I wanted to respond to each of you but I haven't reached that level I think.

I think who ever thought of jeans tying at the waist, needs to expand on that idea and cover plus sizes as well.

I'm a lot better off than I was an hour ago with all the suggestions. I was happy to see that others were checking out some of the suggestions posted by others.

Huge jegging fan here so I can wear a thin knit without the button closure showing through. My top 3, in order of most stretchiness to least: NYDJ (be sure to get the one with the elastic waist band), Boston Proper (amazing bootcut jeggings), and Chicos (much less stretch like real jeans).

Now I'm off to look at CocoLion's suggestions!

I saw some Jag pull-on jeans at TJ Maxx that had a knit stretch waistband that looked like maternity jeans but weren't. They looked like normal jeans if you wear them with an untucked shirt.

My issue is that I have nerve problems in my thigh when I wear your typical blue jean. Therefore, I have to wear mostly Eileen Fisher stretch merino pants in order to have some give in the waist without pinching my nerves. So I'd like to see if you have suggestions for jeans that look decent that have light stretch in the waist. ( once someone told me they wear pregnancy jeans to solve the problem) What about you? What have you tried? Or do you wear jeans at all?
