Agree with the others - don't worry about buttoning it. Just make sure you gave a good fit in the shoulders, arms etc. I believe Angie actually had hers tailored for the perfect fit.

If I actually worried about buttoning all my jackets, I would probably not have any! My denim jacket is not perfect - it's a bit too long to be "cheeky" for dresses & skirts and it just barely buttons (like if I hold my breath & suck my gut in!) but even if it did, I can't imagine that I would ever button it. Especially with a larger chest, buttoning up a crew neck (which is essentially what the traditional jean jacket would be) isn't very flattering.

Have you ever looked at the Motto denim jackets at QVC? They really have some cute styles...and a 30 day money-back guarantee. You may also need to bring the est fitting one you find into the tailor and have it adjusted for you....if you really want one, this may be the way to go

Have you tried a charity shop/goodwill/consignment store? I got mine from there - may not be perfect but v cheap and gave me a chance to enjoy the look. I love it now!

Itari it has taken me 10 years!! to find the perfect denim jacket. I haven't been actively looking for the all that time just sporadically. Look in places you really wouldn't expect to find one x

I hear you, Itari! I have a denim jacket from Old Navy that was recommended here, and it was the best I could do for fit. Not too short, I could button if I wanted to, but don't ever button it. Don't think that is important, really, if it fits everywhere else and doesn't look terribly small in the chest. I remember posting pictures awhile back of a BF jacket I loved and they only had a smaller size that I thought didn't fit because I couldn't button it, but it fit everywhere else. Angie begged me to keep it, as I wouln't be buttoning it, it has been the perfect jacket, I love it-so glad I kept it. Hope that helps. Can you post a picture?

Although I CAN button my jackets, I NEVER button them. How about you take a pic of yourself in one of these jackets so we can convince you?

Maybe you just need to adjust your eye to the open jacket look. Most of my jackets don't close in the front- this is a totally Angie approved look and not cheap looking at all. It allows for the proper fit at your shoulders.

I still can't find a denim jacket. I've been looking for this particular item since Spring. No luck. I'm beginning to think that I'm a sort of a freak, since every single denim jacket looked weird on me.

What's my point? Small shoulders, back and waist & big bust. Size 6-8 is ok for my torso, but I can't button anything smaller than 12-14. I don't want to wear something that is visibly too small in the bust area... it looks kind of cheap.
