And the casual and stiffer/heavier fabric of a jean jacket over a rayon type dress gives some coverage in those temperature changes with air conditioning. And the casualizing , comfy feel of a denim jacket can helps keep me from feeling too dressed up. I have 3 denim jackets, they all have those pockets on the chest. I think they look good on me. I get compliments. I don't think they are bust enhancing in any way.
