Thanks guys, super helpful. Sounds like I should try one on that fits in the shoulders and then look at the total look.

Great news since I've been afraid of how these are going to work on me!

I've found a great one by NYDJ that is very flattering and comfortable for my large bust. Not sure if this is the same as mine is a couple years old.

I agree with the iconic aspect, even with a fuller bust. And the casual and stiffer/heavier fabric of a jean jacket over a rayon type dress gives some coverage in those temperature changes with air conditioning. And the casualizing , comfy feel of a denim jacket can helps keep me from feeling too dressed up. I'm thinking about trying a white denim vest- if I am brave enough to turn a snug jacket into a vest to pop on!

How about denim but in a moto style? No pockets at the bust and a more open neckline.

Denim is a pretty firm fabric so although petite and curvy, I don't worry much about the bust and front because these areas hang well on their own.

I'm particular about fitting the shoulder area so it doesn't look baggy and saggy through the bust, and find this gives a more focused look with dresses and skirts. My Isabel Marant jean jacket is sized-up and faded, and I wear it with pants.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I get my jean jackets at Old Navy. Cheap, XXL is more than big enough and they tweak the colors and details every couple of seasons so they look fresh. I have a standard length dark denim one. I also have a plain black cropped one I thrifted that goes over dresses.

DDD bust here. While conventional figure flattery says "don't have pockets, they draw attention to your bust" --there is such a thing as iconic looks and having the iconic look to me trumps the pocket thing. I don't want to lose the coolness of the look (and spend a lot of time looking for a pocket-less jacket) ---so I just accept that my bust might look slightly more prominent in a jean jacket and make sure the rest of the outfit isn't adding to the bustiness of the look (for instance I won't do a plunging v neck with jean jacket but I will do a floral/cute crewneck tee.)

I have a very large bust. I have 3 denim jackets, they all have those pockets on the chest. I think they look good on me. I get compliments. I don't think they are bust enhancing in any way. Try some on with a cool looking dress, or a nice tee.

I'm curious if someone has found a good, reasonably priced denim jacket that is not too bust-enhancing.

This is a shopping challenge for me--I try to avoid any detail in the bust area such as pockets.

Suggestions?
