My favorites are the heart jeans (maybe with a little tailoring as Angie suggested) and the skirt. But I also like the side stripe ones as well. Soo many lovely options.

Your DH and mine must be related because mine says the same thing about today's denim trends. He doesn't understand or like me in anything except skinnies and bootcuts. Colored denim, wide leg denim, printed denim, barrel shaped denim, anything remotely baggy, he doesn't understand any of them and he doesn't like any of them on me. He is also a very classic dresser and taste in fashion (Brooks Brothers is his favorite).

Personally I adore all of your denim, you have a stellar collection. The heart and floral jeans are top of the list to me, they are fun and playful and really remind me of your style best. Next up is side striped jeans, which I am biased about because I've hunted for side striped pants or jeans for quite some time.

With all the variety you have here, you have jeans to fit every mood and occasion, which to me is a nicely curated, versatile jean capsule in the wardrobe. Bravo!

I love all of the bigger jeans, especially the ones with hearts, the floral pair, and the side-stripe ones (in particular the ones featured in 25-26--those are fabulous!). I agree with Angie and others: With bigger jeans, sometimes an ankle length can work so well, so that's something to consider with, e.g., the floral pair. Love all of the jackets too! You are set for denim!

Spouses and partners might have different style goals: One might want to dress to fit in, to be comfortable, to look as trim as possible, etc., and another might see getting dressed as about self-expression, creativity, joy, and so on. Neither is right or wrong, IMO, and they can coexist peacefully, with some respect and recognition for the different paths.

I think you and your husband just have completely different views on what getting dressed is about and good that you will do you. I agree with Angie about the heart jeans - they are you! I like the floral ones too but not with a longer top necessarily. The narrower jeans can be useful for when you are wearing something very statement on top and don't want the jeans to compete. I can see a place for all of these but especially the more statement ones.

Natalie, you work impressively fast!

Rest assured, skinnies are not out. They simply took a backseat!

The heart jeans are sooooo YOU! They need to be shortened to achieve that pukka barrel shape. The Gap florals could be shortened a little too.

I'm a spanner today! My faves are the big Gap florals, although they need a slight hack. A size down may have worked too. Love them with the matching jacket. Just. So. Natalie. PLAYFUL!!

The jackets and skirt look great too! Well done.

Glad you and hubs respect your differences. Opposites attract! Complementary is key :)

I'm still into wide leg jeans ( A-line wide ) and currently switch between different length of those - full length and slightly cropped ( the shoes showing and a little bit of ankle ). I love barrel jeans on you and all R&B sweatpants versions, and printed denim is my favorite thing - like your GAP flower ones or one with hearts! Wash Lab jacket and skirt are lovely - nice set!
I'm not into bootcut currently because I worn it before too much ( and no skinnies for me - personal preference ). My bootcut jeans were from Lucky Brand mostly - like yours. I only kept flared jeans from LB in my holding zone - one low rise with a bit of rip and fray and the clean version as well. Boot cut jeans seems to be trending again - darker washes especially ( practical choice with boots ).

I like looser pants more on you. The skinny pair is my least favorite - the outfit in #1&2 looks top heavy. The barrel leg jeans in #15-16 need to be shorter for better proportions.

OK, my favourite is 1-2, the skinny pair, because that’s always been my favourite silhouette and most of my pants are slim. They’re coming back. Many people won’t be happy but I will! Thankfully in this era different trends can happen at the same time.
My least favourite is 15/16, the floral horseshoe pair, as they just look so big and wide to my eye.
Sounds like the discussion with your husband is quite psychological, and he is concerned about your wellbeing, while not really understanding your fashion experiments. The latter part is probably the same with a lot of Fabbers’ husbands!

I like the barrel leg with the heart, the side stripe and I like the slim cut too. My least favourite are the floral jeans.

All the jackets work in my opinion. They are fun and modern.

I think at the moment that modern looks are more oversized, voluminous etc and less about traditional figure flattery. Classic jeans or looks aiming for flattery are still popular and I still like them.

It’s working out what you like and how to feel good in something.

Those jackets are great. I love the Frame swing one, it’s my favorite of the lot. Silhouette-wise, I’m liking the barrel and wide-leg shapes on you more than skinny or boot-cut. That may have to do with the shirt you’re wearing - I think you could rock those shapes with a looser, drapey top. All the side-stripe jeans/pants look good too, they’re very fun. And I think spouses are not always the best judges of these things (though of course we want to hear their thoughts and opinions!). Did you ever read that blog Man Repeller? They proposed that “fashion” (especially when it involves voluminous cuts and challenging shapes) can be in opposition to what men enjoy seeing women wearing, and that’s okay. Wear it anyway!

I love the side stripe ones! I slept on the side stripe tone-on-tone Miramars, and now they seem to be sold out in my size, at least at Nordstrom. So those versions have my heart — I prefer them over the narrower sweatpant jeans. I also really like all the jackets. I tried the Miramar hoodie jacket and liked it but ruled it out because it didn’t have pockets — does this version have real pockets?

I also like the solid barrel jeans but am less fond of the hearts and flowers, but that’s just my taste — the floral jacket is super cute though! I prefer the fit of the heart ones on you — the length and width of the floral pair seems just a little big to my eye.

I’m feeling quite over skinnier silhouettes, even if they are starting to trend again, so I’m a bit less fond of that pair. I say trust your instincts on that one.

I'm a fan of all the jeans and sweatpants with side stripes, and the barrels with hearts seem very you. I like the bootcuts too. The striped shirt is very sharp. Denim skirt looks good. The trucker jacket in 25 and the shirt jacket in 27 are my favourites on you.

OK I may have gone a bit overboard with the jeans wardrobe refresh. I started out this whole process with only a couple pairs of Levi shaping skinny jeans from Amazon, but then started rebuilding and embracing wider and wider jeans, till I ended up going off the deep end and drinking the barrel jeans kool-aid! I thought it would be fun to do a fit lab, kind of like a taste test but with blue jeans. I'm focusing only on the blue jeans, not all the other colors/patterns.

Hubs is a very traditional dresser, so I get more compliments from him when I wear solids and button down shirts (like he really likes the 19-20 outfit). But those type of conservative "business" clothes don't really feel like me, I love whimsical/playful looks, bright colors and patterns and pattern mixing and matchy matchy. I realized that at least 90% of my dresses are patterns rather than solids.

Recently he asked me why I was starting to wear such baggy pants and was wondering if I was feeling insecure and trying to hide my figure. He even mentioned he read about Billie Eilish wearing super baggy clothes even though she wasn't overweight. He said the baggy pants make me look bigger than I really am and that I should wear more "normal" jeans because they are more flattering to my figure and he likes it when he can see my ass(ets). I said I don't care about conventionally flattering or what other guys think of me and said Billie and I can dress however we want!

He doesn't like the sweatpant jeans either and says they look kind of sloppy. Of these jeans, he only likes the first two pairs, the skinny and bootcut. But skinny is kind of "out", right? And it makes me more self conscious about my waist unless I wear baggy shirts on top. Mind you, he's not saying anything negative about my body and thinks I'm beautiful, so he gets a pass, but he's definitely not used to this whole oversized baggy barrel jeans trend and our fashion tastes kind of don't mesh at all (he thinks he has superior taste, but I think my fashion sense is less boring, LOL!). He definitely likes it better when I dress in conventionally flattering clothes.

So what do you think of the different jean silhouettes on me? I kept the shirt the same and used a fitted shirt and side views so you can see the fit better. This is more of a discussion on what you think of the different styles, not a K/R. Which is your favorite and least favorite of these jeans? I already have/wear all of these jeans, but lately I've been going for comfort. I like the barrel jeans a lot, and am loving the sweatpant jeans the most, especially the track pants because I can match the stripe colors to the rest of my outfit, which tickles my matchy matchy gene. I literally have like 10 pairs of the various Rag and Bone jeans! So I'd have to say the Rag & Bone track pants (all the different colors) are my favorite and the skinny jeans my least favorite right now.

A few other pics showing my four blue denim jackets. They're all different so I need them all, right? LOL. That's not even counting the black one I bought. Plus I don't have a white denim jacket yet. The old Levi cropped blue denim jacket I had before is too small now and tight in the shoulders and I like a longer length now. I tried a La Ligne cropped Val sherpa jacket, but it looked too masculine on me so I returned it. I love the Frame swing coat with the bell sleeves and flared back because it's roomy but more feminine, and the Miramar trucker jacket because it's so soft and matches all my track pants. The two tone Wash lab denim skirt is a fun piece too. I admit the Gap floral jacket and horseshoe jeans combo is ALGO (a lot going on)--I know DH will not be a fan of that outfit. But vive la difference! We still support and complement each other even though we are different in a lot of ways. That's what makes life interesting. Anyone else with partners who are amused at our fashion escapades?

1-2. Levi stretch skinny jeans
3-4. Lucky sweet baby bootcut jeans
5-6. Rag & Bone Miramar sweatpant joggers
7-8. Rag & Bone Miramar Shea bootcut sweats
9-10. Rag & Bone Miramar side stripe track pants
11-12. Daze barrel jeans
13-14. Next two tone barrel jeans
15-16. Gap floral horseshoe jeans
17-18. Baies heart print barrel jeans
19-20. Rag & Bone striped button down shirt
21-22. Frame denim jacket
23-24. Gap floral crop denim jacket
25-26. Rag & Bone Miramar trucker jacket
27-30. Wash Lab denim shirt jacket (unbuttoned and buttoned) & two toned denim skirt
