Hi tansie,

Pleather looks so good now, and is really quite durable too. I think Anne posted a black one that was about 10 years old!!

Thanks Londonkiwi, that is very helpful. The one I am looking at costs 50 euros,(from a shop called promod, which often has fairly awful stuff, but every now and then there is something good) so if it lasts two years I will be happy! I think the decision will be made this weekend.

Hi Tansie, Welcome to the forum.

I recently bought a pleather jacket from Uniqlo and on the ticket it included some helpful information about the durablity of pleather. Basically, with moderate (ie not everyday) use it should last 3 years, before too much cracking etc is evident.

I thought that this was a really good piece of disclosure on the part of Uniqlo, and not something I have seen on other similar jackets.

Hi Tansie and welcome.
Pleather is just a synthetic, leather look material, some can be washed in the machine. I think it lasts well, several YLF ers have got them so hopefully they will chime in x

Hello! My first ever post! I feel like I know you all already, but here is a quick intro for me - 33yr old SAHM, Australian, live in France, and I've lost my style mojo! And I have a question. I have my eye on black moto jacket made of what I think would be called pleather. How do you look after this? Does it last well ( obviously not like leather, but more than one season?)
Thank you everyone!
