I hear you. It's a BEAUTIFUL colour. Have you tried softening spray that you can buy at Nordies?

The KS monk strap loafer is too casual. A really nice shoe, but not a substitute for the slipper flat if you know what I mean.

Thanks for input, Liz and Von. Thanks, Lyn D.
Angie, I somehow missed it on your list. That is a great description --a hard shoe! That was super true of the SW Guything in the wicker-black combo--it was like walking in a rock! These are not nearly so, but it's true they do not fit the soft leather test. I have always been so determined not to fall into a trap of : "breaking in" shoes that will turn out to be uncomfortable, but that color is SO fun I'm losing perspective!

Added photo of a KS buckle loafer because of color, and maybe leather is soft; I think it may meet the modern test, and I might like it--I often find that vamp feels unflattering on me, but nude might be less so. Wonder if anyone has tried it ?

Those slipper flats are soooooo gorgeous, which is why they made my top picks list. I found them uncomfortable - and mentioned that in the roundup. But I do have fussy feet and MUST wear soft leather. Many of my clients are fine wearing this type of what I call a hard shoe - so hence it made the roundup.

They look stunning with your outfits, unfrumped. Makes them all look extra modern. The shade of iridescent blush is simply magical. If they were soft - they would be mine too. I hope they become more comfy. xo

ps. I bought white patent Salvatore Ferragomo loafers a month ago and they are very soft. So patent CAN be soft.

I could try to photo differently. I think the thing is, the patent part is so successful as a nude that it disappears! How's that for a problem!

I love the nude part, and how you're pairing it in all of the outfits, but the toe cap is throwing me off. Is it really that almond?

I like them in 4-6. I do think that a solid color skirt might change my mind. Perhaps it's the conflicting "patterns" that's throwing the skirt looks off.

I love these Delman Oilslick nude slipper flats so much I re-ordered a half size up, then added inserts, because they run narrow, which was perfect for heel fit, but pooh for bunion.

Quite a few of my shoes are patent or mixed—I seem to be the patent magpie magnet. Online I thought I might not like the “oilslick” as being too flashy, but as a nude it is kind of fantastic, because by being iridescent, it changes color so it seems to avoid appearing too pink or too orange or whatever—it adapts. I've tried lots of tans and nudes and all rejects.

My dilemma (sorry I always seem to have one!) is that I might need to use slightly different inserts R and L (which I think I can find easily) and wear them a bit for the R shoe (always the problem foot) to loosen up more—it feels fine on carpet but a bit stiff on hard floor. I have to be thinking whether patent will do that because is not as forgiving as regular leather, but the larger size has much more give and I think it will. But I have not tended to be a shoe breaker-inner before. The leather soles are stiff, which is part of the issue but is helped a lot just when I tried random inserts I had on hand.

I love this style for toning down pencil skirts, and the color seems to be my HEWI color for my palette and for summer nude hose, for wearing not-black shoes with black or gray pants or with a lighter summer color pant. Probably the more modern of the stylings would be skirts or tapered pants (esp more tapered) , but I’d like to wear them with wider trousers, too, just to have more options.

Pics are kind of random re: tops but: 1 & 2--2 summer pencil skirts; 3 &4 tapered pants; 5-6 wider trousers; 7-AGL nude flats which are at present the footwear I like most with skirt/nude leg since I have not found a pale bootie or shootie I can wear.

In the photos, the contrasting toe cap does seem to stand out more than IRL.

First, what do you think of the look itself, and versatility? Then I will have to see if I'm comfortable with the comfort factor.
