I mean the pants obviously don't come up to your ribcage, unless you have a lot of extra ribs. If you have been wearing your pants lower for a long period of time, it will feel funny. I agree the pants have to go back, but it has more to do with the color and material than the rise. I think the rise looks good actually. It locks and loads you so you're not spilling out of the waistband, and makes your legs look longer. It sounds like it's just something you need to get used to.
