I wash my undies on the "hand wash" cycle in the washing machine with baby shampoo (learned this from a lady at a fancy bra shop), then hang it all to dry -- even my panties. Even if I basically have to hand pre-wash it to remove stains it’s going into the washing machine afterwards.</p> <p>These days I mostly had pairs that are glued rather than sewn together at the sides, and I’ve noticed this can be a failure point. I have Knix that is 5+ years old now starting to come unglued, which I think is reasonable quality but I had really hoped I wouldn’t need period underwear anymore by the time they wore out…</p> <p>I would hang them to dry more often if I had a good place to do so but they often slide off the wide gauge steel ikea racks that I have installed. Future plans for the laundry room hopefully include something more appropriate for hanging small delicates that isn’t one of those foldable wire racks that always end up warped under my care.</p> <p>Laundry, is it a problem that is ever fully solved? Bottoms go in the regular machine wash and bras in the laundry bag in the same cycle. I hate hand washing of anything and once I discovered the magic of a mesh laundry bag there is no going back. Bras and viscose items, as well as some knits, go in the bag and it's all good. I do want to gently push back against the idea that handwashing can’t get it clean enough. In my experience if you have a washbasin, a washboard, and a good technique, it’s totally fine.
