The patent boots have thinner sole as well - hope they are truly comfy. The dogs definitely capture the mood today, LOL! I guess we were due one really dreary day — it’s been cool but mostly pleasant, and we’ve had days when it rained but then cleared up. </p> <p>I’m not sure whether stores are taking returns — it would be by mail, if at all. If not, it’s not a huge deal — the Fishers are comfortable and they were on steep sale. I may be keeping both pairs of snake print sneakers too (the Naturalizer lace ups and the Vince slip-ons) because both have ended up being comfortable and I’ve worn them even around the house. An attempted return may be more hassle than it’s worth, since I do like them a lot! </p> <p>Helena, these Boden sweaters have come in handy this spring. It’s been fairly cool, and the colors are nice for the transitional season, since so much of my sweater wardrobe is dark or black. Example of old boots in pic 1: Topshop booties with squarish toe and reddish tortoise heels, from several years ago. The heels are standing up really well to use, but the leather uppers are looking less than ideal, even with regular cleaning and polishing, especially since I wear these as dressier-casual boots. They’re also starting to be less comfortable. </p> <p>At first I jumped on the Marc Fisher Dalaran booties because I have them in the cognac and black reptile print and love those — they are very comfortable on me. The black is nice but rather plain. </p> <p>Then I saw these Dolce Vita patent, textured boots and swooned — just the right level of refinement and dressiness I wanted, but totally wearable with jeans and a dressed-down outfit as well. Much more personality than the Fishers. </p> <p>It’s taken me this long to finally give the boots a wear around the house to evaluate comfort. I love how they look, even though the shaft is a little roomy on my ankles — it’s not so extreme to give flower-pot effect if I wear them with tights and a skirt, and they look good with rolled jeans or full-length bootcuts. So this morning I dressed in real clothes and have been wearing the boots around the house, and I’m happy to say, they’re quite comfortable! I actually forgot I was wearing new boots. </p> <p>So, I will see if even at this late date, Nordstrom Rack will accept the return of the Fishers, and I’ll keep the Dolce Vitas.
