It is currently Triple Points Days at Nordies, so you may as well order any and all shoes and sizes you think might work. And then rush to return those that don't!!!

How sad and weird about your booties. Good thing we're getting into spring.

Angie is wise! I also really like the pointy toe AGLs she added. Both of your picks are gorgeous, too, Thistle. I really don't like wearing sling-backs or sandals with boot-cut trousers, though. My pants hem is forever getting stuck between my foot and sole (a problem Angie has pointed out).

Angie's picks are gorgeous, as are yours. I really hope you find something that works well and makes you happy. I love the AGL ones....did you ever try the Cobb Hill oxfords? I forgot to say before, 1/2 size makes a world of difference in that model. I bought 9w, worked great, just a smidge big, went down to 8.5 and NO WAY! ACK! If I had bought those first, I never would've tried the next size up, it was that drastic

The third pair that Angie posted have some of the elements of both but with a lower heel. I like the softer almost pewter metallic on #3 and the pointy but not extremely pointy tow on this one.

Can you try them all on and then see what you love with comfort taken into consideration?

I think you also have to consider what you will wear them with, pant hem length, etc. The color you know for sure, but to avoid making a costly mistake, you need to confirm that this replacement shoe will function as the pair they're replacing. You probably already considered that, but I know I have made that mistake in the past.

All that being said, I love the AGLs for their longevity and apparent comfort factor based on Angie's comment. I really love the 3rd pair Angie has in her post (flat pointy toe).

Egads! These are super expensive (from my standpoint). Although, I'd certainly spend that and more for handbag, so I guess if you're a shoe gal, the price is closer to normal for you. If I were making the same evaluation on handbags, I'd probably pick the wow factor of #1 IF it met all the comfort and function requirements. Can't wait to see what you choose!

I have one pair of AGL flats (much like these but not the heel), so I can attest to comfort. I have been tempted to try a higher heel myself. I tried one of their pointy-ish wedge shoes but the sizing was so off I got 2 sizes and still were too small; did not try again because the wedge was too narrow and to me was not as stable as I need for a work day.

#2 is probably more pants-friendly despite photo-shoots of pointy slingbacks, because your pants hem may get caught ifyou're wearing full length--as Angie advised me once--but I think that's a try-on thing. Not a problem with ankle pants, of course.
I have never regretted "investing" in shoes or even another item, if it's a bang-on outfit-maker; it makes FFBO stylish and adds versatility. Wardrobe workhorse. The only regrets are if I push my foot comfort or foot-healthy limits in terms of toe box or heel height, and then the item that looks great but can't be worn regularly. So I have a similar goal, not bookending but more nude colors for summers when I wear nude hose indoors and dark shoes (which have to be flats or more comfortable shoes, so no elegant black pumps looks) have too much contrast.
So I would try them and make sure the first replacement pair is truly work-day worthy. You've identified the color or types of colors you need, so if one or even both of these are not just right, you can keep looking; or if #2 feels great, and #1 is tempting but not quite comfortable, then keep looking for the dressier version in another maker or style.

But I'd also add this: You've discovered you love shoes, right? Since you're wired to be practical in just about every area of life, why not plan to be impractical with your shoes? Go ahead and buy most of your shoes for practicality, but budget for one or two pairs of totally impractical shoes now and then.

I have a bit of crow syndrome so the first one draws my eye. It has a number of interesting details - shape and material on heel, thin strap. I also like the second pair and they are more of a nude. The lower vamp and lack of strap would be more elongating as well. One other factor to consider is that wearing pants with slingbacks often results in that annoying pants stuck in shoes issue.

Although the first pair is gorgeous, the second pair is very pretty too and may be more practical.

So, my newish gold suede booties ripped, yes ripped, across the top of one boot. No idea how it happened. They were fine when I left home, but when I looked down at my feet mid morning, there was the rip!

So, I need to replace them. They bookend my hair and they lengthen the leg line in my straw and caramel colored dress pants.

Booties are a bit out of season, but there were two shoes that caught my eye. One being practical, and the other so beautiful I kept going back to it and thinking about it over and over. Both are expensive, but I have proven to myself I wear this color footwear a lot. A sling back is probably not very practical for my climate. And it has an unusual shaped heel. And the pointed toe is very pronounced and might date easily. And yet, I keep going back to look at it and keep thinking about. To be or not to be practical . . .
