Will not be purchasing any of these dresses since I just dropped some wardrobe money on a vintage bag about 30 minutes ago...c'est la vie!

1 and 2 are OK but in my view both are too short, at least for me-I think mid knee is much more appropriate. Short waist on #1 wd be good for me but should be checked if you are not shortwaisted. #3 is inappropriate-this is cocktail wear, not office, unless you want to stay in admin assistant jobs. I would take all to a tailor to have the fit checked.

Love the shape of number 2 (the sheath). Pattern might be a little large? But the colors are great and would look wonderful on you! Maybe just order and try it and see. It's always hard to tell until you actually put the garment on.

Whoa!
Just saw the last one the purple with the wonderful shearing at the waist! I think that one has your name written all over it. It would look great with your coloring also!

The Adrianna Papell dress you just linked to is by far my favorite one for you. Petite sizes are usually smaller than regular, in the same number. So I would try it. I think it would be suitable for many occasions as well as the office and the color flatters you and is season-spanning. Plus it has that classic-retro feel you are going for. A winner in my book!

So I looked again at the CK sheath and I'm not crazy about the fabrication plus it isn't lined. I'm kind of "iffy" on it now even though I do think it's a gorgeous dress. Would that be a deal breaker for you?

I did find this other dress http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ad.....tback=1263 that might actually be a bit more versatile (not quite so summery looking), has a vintage style to it and is lined. I love the waist wrap detail but am wondering if it will just provide some "pouffe" to the pouch, you know? It's only available in a size 12 and I am a size 10 but it might fit small and/or my tailor could take it in if it were too large.

Maybe I should just leave this whole dress thing alone for a while and stop driving you all nuts!!!

I love the sheath dress. Such a flattering style. The patterns would be fine in most offices and you could tone down the pattern anyway if you want with jackets or cardis.

Of the 1st lot I like #2 best, but I'm a pattern girl for dresses and I could see this going dark for fall/winter and light for spring/summer (and you have lots of purple and black to play with don't you?)

Love the last Suzi Chin - I have a patterned version and it is so comfortable and yes it does drape nicely (however no getting around the waist elastic). I totally vote that one as my 1st choice.

I love dresses. I especially love the CK sheath. It does look a tad short, but I wonder if that's just the model-- I'm not sure their dresses have ever been shorter than knee length on me. (Also, that one seems to fit with the colors you tend towards.)

Oooohhhh...what about this one? The reviews say it's short waisted, which is actually good for me. Love the colour, pleats can hide wobbly bits, and with my big black belt...?

I like #1 hands down. #2 seems more like church or brunch and #3 seems like a night out type of dress. But I haven't worked in an office environment for 20 years, so I may be totally off base lol!

I say YES to all! I'm a big dress person for work. It started when I was pregnant and I thought ... 'I'm too hot to put pants on. I need to find some dresses, or I'll get arrested for not wearing pants!" I would try them all. Dresses are so easy because you don't have to figure out what else to wear - one piece- easy and done!

I found these two different dresses at Nordstrom's in the sale section - price points are good and either would work well for me at the office. I love the style/fit of the Classiques Entier but wonder if it might be too much dress for short me? I also love the Calvin Klein sheath dress - the colours and pattern kind of remind me of the 1960's - it would work well now with jackets and in the summer without. Would either of these be worth trying out? There's also the Suzi Chin cowl neck that Angie had recommended but I think it's probably too dressy for the office.
