Oh, Suz. Thank you for chiming in and straightening me out. You have, after all, seen the thing in real life.

You confirmed my suspicions on layering it with the pretty NAS sweaters. I think it was more of a thought (dream? wish?) than something I would do in real life. To be honest I would probably be warm enough in a sweater for most of the year - maybe 1-2 months I'd need a real coat over the top.

I was just dreaming up outfit ideas and stretching the justification if I could make all of those pieces work together.

I'm going to go back to the drawing board and think hard about this one (and the NAS pretties, too). I don't want it to get away (FOMO) but I don't want an orphan, either.

Thanks again for your reply.

Ah, that blazer! Now, why did you have to remind me of that? :)

It's such a gorgeous jacket and would look lovely paired with the dress.

To be completely honest, I don't think it would work so well over the sweaters. Keep in mind, I have a low tolerance for "winter" and "summer" fabrics being used together. But also -- I had this jacket on. There is something about it that begs for lighter weight fabrics underneath it. It's not flimsily lightweight (it does have leather, after all!) and could work pretty well with cotton or other lightweight knits (e.g. linen) underneath. But I think wearing cashmere under it would feel and probably look a bit odd.

I also think sizing up to wear with sweaters beneath is the wrong approach for this style. It's a blazer. It wants to be worn as a lightweight over layer or as an indoor jacket. What's important to it is the cut and shape. If you size up you lose that. It won't lie properly, and you won't be able to wear it well without those layers.

It's absolutely gorgeous, and I was really tempted -- but for me, it wouldn't get worn enough. My climate is sort of the opposite of yours, but the issues might be similar. I think it would be most useful to someone who lived in a temperate place where lots of 3-season or even all-season clothes made sense.

For me, it's too warm and heavy for my true summers ( if I worked in air conditioning it would be useful -- but I don't). Meanwhile, it's too lightweight for my winters and even my falls. It's really a late spring jacket. The only months I could really see myself wearing it were June and maybe September. When temperatures are around 18C.

Now...that might be perfect for San Diego like temperatures! But I can't imagine wanting to layer it with cashmere in that kind of weather.

Even so, it is so gorgeous and at the current price is, I think, a genuine steal. It might be worth having anyway as a spring and early fall jacket.

Anna's blazer post reminded me of a boden blazer I had my eye on but I let get away last season.

I've been pretty good with slowing WAY down and being more deliberate with my shopping lately. I've had my Nordies cart full since NAS started but have yet to pull the trigger. Now many of the items are sold out in the size or color I want.

Now this Danier blazer is calling my name.

Is it FOMO or could it be a good addition? Being deliberate is hard and stressful!

I'm wondering how you could see this blazer paired - outfit ideas? I WFH but also have a client facing meeting capsule. I could see it crossing into both.

Here's ideas and questions I had.

Would this EF dress pair with it?
Can I wear it all winter? Keep in mind winter is very mild here. Think Texas or San Diego winter.
What about layered over this Angie pick sweater from NAS? And another NAS option in navy. As well as the NAS floral sweater.
I have this black silk EF top too.

I'd probably size up to fit over these sweaters. It would work as a jacket which is weather appropriate for my climate. Or is sizing up not a good idea since it means I'd just be using it for outdoor use rather than just as a blazer?

I have bf jeans in denim and white. And of course a black skirt and black pants.

I have taupe suede and mushroom booties (shown) that get little wear.

Can't figure out now to do the find from the iPad so here is the link to the blazer that keeps torturing me.
http://www.danier.com/store/Pr.....lorid=7143

And yes this is the one Suz modeled for me a few weeks ago.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ier-blazer

Thanks for your guidance. Feel free to talk me off the ledge or give me a big fat push off the deep end. :-D
