Sounds good sweet Janet, and my pleasure.

I LOVED you in the BR flared crops, and have a feeling that Jamie will like them more soon.

Aw, thanks Angie! So thoughtful!

I'm not sure I'll invest in this look any further than I already have. I like the cropped flares (BR and R&B) I already have, but hubs is not wild about them, and culottes and wider legs take the concept even further.

Maybe I would be a more likely candidate for culottes that are more drapey, not too A-line or stiff. But I'm just not sure I like the whole culotte style that much for myself anyway. I know to never say never, and someday I might try on some for grins, but somehow I'm not feeling it from a stylistic point of view, body issues aside. Hmm. I will ponder this further. I do like being current and trying new trends, but this one is not grabbing me.

I really appreciate your encouragement though! I have actually had some fleeting thoughts about trends, copycatting, style icons, individuality, rebellion, and personal style lately (in between work, wedding prep, houseguests, etc), and perhaps I'll get a chance to form some more coherent thoughts and write a post on this later. I am feeling a closet edit coming on (probably in September), and that's usually a good time for some evaluation.

Janet, you mentioned a few times over the last few days that you can't wear flared culottes with a higher waist because of your body type. May I gently suggest that you can, if the rise isn't too high for your shorter torso. THAT is key.

Think of it this way. You look Killer Stunning in regular length bootcuts and flares - culottes are merely a shorter version of them. You have a naturally long leg line, (hello, Ms. Legs!) - which helps create traditionally flattering proportions right away. So if you DO like the look, please don't give up on it. I know you'd rock the vibe. xo
