Thanks for all of the suggestions - a combo of the baby wipe and hand sanitizer seems to have done the trick, except the part where I tried the Magic Erase - it looks like a bit lighter, but it seems like the ME sort of "ground" it into the fabric of the bag. It's not too bad though it's on the bottom of the back side.

Thanks again!

And, if the vodka doesn't take the blue dye out, you can drown your sorrows with the remainder. I've used alcohol swabs, hand cleaner, and sometimes Spray 9. But always be sure to test first.

Cheers

I second the suggestion to try an alcohol based hand sanitizer (or, in a pinch, vodka will work too!). 70% ethanol is my all-purpose cleanser of choice (in lab and elsewhere), plus you have the added bonus that it'll kill bacteria! Club soda or seltzer water might work too...

Whatever you use, test it on somewhere inconspicuous first though to make sure the finish won't get messed up...

I struggle with this constantly. I love my cream/white bags! Essential tools - hairspray+soft cloth and in a pinch - Chlorox wipes. Seems like this is all I am using hairspray for these days

I've had success with hairspray. I spray it onto a cotton bud/pad and wipe over the affected area x

I've had a lot of success with baby wipes (I had blue hair for a while and stained the collar of a white leatherette jacket!) I don't know what's in the baby wipes that worked so well, but I figure people use them on babies so it's probably okay!

This happened to someone else on the forum... I can't remember who... I hope they find you. Their thread had some good suggestions, but I must say the fact that the magic eraser doesn't work is disturbing. Have you tried something soft and wet like a baby wipe? L

I just got the off white messenger bag at Target (faux leather, of course) last week and was using on a trip out of town. I was wearing my Gap skinnies and after a day of walking around, shopping, etc. I notice that the jeans had worn off all over the back of the bag and a bit on the front.

Does anyone know how to get the blue stains off of the bag? I tried the Magic Eraser on the bottom, and that is not a good solution as it kind of scrapes the pebbled look off with the color.
