After using dermalmd under eye treatment for several weeks, the puffiness under my eyes and on my eyelids was definitely reduced. I use it every morning and night. It doesn't make the puffiness totally disappear, just lessens it, which is more than any other thing I've tried. I can tell the difference!

I’m in my 40’s and get really puffy dark circles under my eyes, it’s a nightmare when I wake up in the morning!
After cleansing my face I have been applying dermalmd under eye serum, within 5 minutes of using this serum, I can see the puffiness going down and the dark color getting lighter. LOVE IT!

I have had a problem with this ever since I can remember ( 16 year old..or something ) . When the "bags" and puffiness are the worst for me, it is often allergy related. I also have sinusitis. So Benedryl helps ( an anti-histamine ). I use the Garnier anti-puff roller ball and I really like it . I keep in the fridge when the weather is warm.

http://www.garnierusa.com/prod.....-roller.as

Finally, I use a lightweight concealer : L'Oreal True match concealer. It gives me coverage and is very lightweight. I have tried dozens over the years. I have found that if the cream is too thick, it just highlights the problem.

http://www.drugstore.com/produ.....8;aid=3386

Also Eye Bright on the most shadowy parts of your eye ( at the corner of your eye by your nose and the outer corner ). It doesn't look pink on, btw.

http://www.sephora.com/eye-bright-P1278

Like everything else, I think that you are going to have to experiment. I have tried sooooo many things that I cannot even begin to tell you. This is the only thing that is working for me.

But most importantly, do have everything checked out be a doctor first. : )

ETA : I get a lot of information and reviews of products from Allure http://www.allure.com and http://www.makeupalley.com

I never used to have dark circles but now I do and nothing applied externally helps much, including the Clinique product. The best is a MAC paste concealer (comes in a tiny pot--MAC Studio Finish Concealer) set with a powder concealer (Bare Minerals Broad Spectrum Concealer).

I never knew that diet could help, I'll have to try that!

 I
am 30 and use to feel little embarrassing due to the fine lines and dark
spots developed on my face. I use to resemble little older, such that an old
friend got it harder to recognize me. She recommended me to go for
anti-wrinkle creams. Previously I use to use Prevage but the product did not
give much results expected, after switching to Dermagist wrinkle cream with regular application of cream for 4
weeks, the fine lines on skin nearly faded. This isn't so greasy and also
does not make my skin look oily. It helped me to get rid of wrinkles. I am
happy with this product.

Glory, I use Origins foundation but I use Bare Minerals or Laremin powder blushes in a sheer pink tone. I do use Origins eyeliner (very soft pencil in Navy for me) and I like that on the top lash area only to draw attention away from the lower puffier zone.

Clinique makes a great product: Even better eyes dark circle corrector. Put it in the fridge first for an even more soothing experience. I haven't tried their anti-puffiness eye roller but it is probably good too. The eye corrector is the only clinique product I use! Im a Clarins girl so to have crossed over, you know it's for a good product!

Thanks for those tips. I will look at that book. I agree about more fresh air and I am not get any at all so that has to be remedied. Is your foundation and eye shadow both from Origins. I will have to see if that is available here in Canada. Also thanks for the information on medical aspects. I just had a physical but may go back in if the one eye doesn't go down a bit.

I've read that puffiness under the eyes is often related to kidney, liver or thyroid function. So, you want to be sure you are doing what you can to keep yourself healthy. When I moved to the country my puffiness was much improved. I think I'm getting more time outdoors in the fresh air, sleeping more soundly, and eating better (not eating out where the food is SO sodium laden it almost seems criminal in some cases!) Too much sodium is hard on the kidneys. Alcohol is hard on the liver and dehydrates you so your body tries to retain water.

I've also taken milk thistle/dandelion combinations on/off for several years. I actually gave up wearing concealer after reading that lighter make-up draws more attention to puffiness and makes it stand out. I think it was correct! Now I just use foundation under my eyes - just a little. I use Origins. And I brush very light sheer pink on my eyelids which also seems to help.

There's a great book called "Makeup Wakeup" that I would recommend fo rmore tips. Not affiliated with it in any way - I just happened to read it and I liked it.

Thanks Diane. I have also read that using Preparation H and leaving it on for 2 minutes reduces the swelling. I havent tried it yet. I am going to check on the GinZing. One site mentions shredding cucumber and using basil leaf tea. You then make a compress from it. In my case, I have one eye that is MUCH puffier than the other so I am quite keen to get some reduction. Last night I tried ice cubes in a toweltte and that helped a wee bit.

I just did a bit of digging as I'd like to minimise my puffines too and it isn't definite that HA is to blame, but some eye cream ingredients CAN be to blame.I'm afraid it's a case of suck it and see. I read that putting eye creams in the fridge can help and those that contain caffeine or ginseng are effective. Origins do one called GinZing, that I might check out. Too much salt in diets is a factor too.

I have had slight puffiness under my eyes since I was a kid and my DS has the same feature so it must be hereditory. However over the last few years mine have got worse and are combined with dark circles. I think it has a lot to do with water retention and I think some eye creams that have hylauronic acid in them make it worse as the action of it is to hold in moisture and plump the skin. I am going to try to find a different eye cream for myself but I don't know if I will have more visible wrinkles! Suz is right in suggesting loads of fruit and veg; and I also drink green tea which is an aquired taste but I find its best if you don't over brew and add a tiny drizzle of runny honey to make it sweeter and less bitter. For me age is definitely a factor as I am going through the menopause and it plays havoc withyour sinuses thus adding to eye puffiness. try also regular gentle patting of the area and invest in a good concealer.

6 or more servings of veggies per day. Preferably 10. A serving is a half cup cooked or 1 cup raw greens.

Lots of water - 8 8 oz glasses

Green tea
