I neither have the skill nor choose to invest the time to get my hair straight. So I have it straight for a couple of days the few times a year I get a haircut. The rest of the time it's in its natural waves and curls. I usually don't take the time to futz with it and get it straight (I tend to be a little OCD on my hair, if it's not all perfectly straight it bothers me and it takes me WAY to long to get it that way :)) I have found that, for me, I have to commit to one style or another. My best cuts for my natural curl pattern don't lend themselves to being straightened very well. On the flip side, when I was straightening my hair, the cut didn't work very well if I just went curly.
