Your story brings tears to my eyes, I am so sorry for your loss. A similar situation occurred in my family; my sister's husband of 23 years passed away in his 40s from a sudden cancer. The first few years were difficult but I am happy to say that she is doing well now, 10 years later. So sorry for your loss. The long fight with cancer and loss of loved ones is very familiar to me. Sounds like you have been very strong through this and had great support from family and friends. They are fortunate to have a strong and beautiful mother like you. What a wonderful idea to bring a pet home!
