Not shaming is big in Japan...this is food for thought.&nbsp;</p> <p>I never thought of it as "shaming". &nbsp;I thought of how dressing can affect those closest to you, like your family. And that was an important lesson to learn. My daughter can pretty much do what she wants ( she is 10 ) : blue hair, designs on her nails, short skirts ( with leggings ). &nbsp;But she needs to follow guidelines for modesty and the school guidelines because it affects people. On a couple of occasions , I have refused to go somewhere with my sister ( as you know her mentality is that of an 8 year old, because she looked indecent. It only took me doing it twice. ) .</p> <p>I don't like "shaming" or "humilation". &nbsp;You bring up a fascinating point. Even the school has written about what the girls are wearing. Though she made me so proud recently at a store, picked up a pair of leggings and said, " Leggings aren't pants, right mama?
