I tried them on without the insert and my foot does not have enough volume to fill out the shoe. The insert helps in that respect. It give it more structure.</p> <p>Viva, The laces do not bother me. In fact, they allow me to tighten the shoe so it fits my foot. They do leave a mark but if the shoes had tongues, they would leave marks also. At least on my feet.&nbsp;</p> <p>LW, I do have a narrow foot but the laces enable adjustment for width. I have wiggle room in the toe area but I have pointy toes. I say give it a try. They fit perfectly, I love the one inch heel&nbsp;elevation but my inserts sow through the lower cutouts. Should I return them or ignore the black showing. Am I being too picky? This foot issue is new to me but I have to learn to deal with it. I really love them! An I the only one that will notice the inserts? What would you do? </p>
