I had to stop wearing Chuck Taylors a couple years ago because the rubber toe cap and sides just don't flex enough for my toes -- they're only comfortable once they're so worn out the rubber is starting to crack. I haven't figured out a good solution, apart from not wearing fashion sneakers much, and it's really frustrating. That is what I’m afraid of. Ecco tend to run wider, and sadly these don’t come in a wide. They are close, but I have very fussy little toes. If they were leather at that area I wouldn’t hesitate. I will take them to a cobbler for advice. While the leather will stretch, it is more an issue of the high rubber sidewall coming up.</p> <p>Does anyone know if a cobbler, or a ball and ring stretcher could stretch the rubber? Any experience. I love them enough to try, but I'm resolved not to sacrifice comfort.
