I'd assumed you meant for travel? I use a zippered leather laptop bag or tote (etsy for handmade, made in USA) for computer, wallet, phone, snacks and water (though I've been reprimanded for water and computer in same bag), and then all the clothes and toiletries in a bag that fits in the overhead. This way your laptop and TSA odds and ends are right at your fingertips or right under the seat in front of you. If your handle on your tote is long enough you just slip it around your carry-on bag extended handle and you're rolling in style. Added benefit, your laptop bag reflects your personal style and not the single on the market does-it-all traveler bag.

I'd thought about a Lo and Sons OG or OMG before I found the MZ Wallace Belle; the Belle wins for me because of the stain resistant material. I use it as my carry on bag as well. However, I've seen plenty of positive reviews for Lo and Sons bags on corporette.com.

How formal does your "everything" bag need to be? I use a Baggallini Avenue Tote as one of my everyday work bags. It fits my 13" laptop (has built in padded pocket), but also is a useful personal item when I'm traveling somewhere by plane. (I especially like the back pocket that unzips to slide over my suitcase handle.) It's lightweight and nylon, but possibly too casual for some folks. It holds a good amount without completely overwhelming my petite frame. It's also nice to have the option of using shoulder straps OR the crossbody strap.

For somewhat more formal occasions, I have a Knomo Little Portland tote, which also has a laptop pocket. It's less flexible as far as hauling around a lot of stuff, as it's a lot slimmer. So I don't like using it when I'm schlepping around, say, a lunch along with my laptop and work portfolio. But it's a bit less casual, and sometimes I want that.

I generally don't bring my laptop to really formal occasions, like interviews. I suppose I could put my laptop in its sleeve in my Dooney & Bourke tote, but it wouldn't be comfortable. Even the lightest laptop gets heavy awfully fast if you're carrying it around all day in the heavy leather bag with shoulder straps designed more for looks than function.

Is the Surface Pro 3 the one that flips around, tablet or laptop style? If so, you might not need an additional sleeve. (Geek time: the reason a padded laptop sleeve was a good idea was that you didn't want your hard drive to clunk around and get out of whack, but all (?) tablets and most new laptops these days use solid state drives, so there's nothing mechanical that can get jarred loose. Not that you should use your tablet as a curling stone or anything but they're a lot less fussy than older laptops used to be.)

When I was looking for laptop bags, I went to ebags.com and browsed by size of device, which they have as one of their options. My everything-but-the-kitchen-sink bag is this one from Kailo Chic, but it fits my 17" MacBook Pro, so will likely be overkill for a tablet. The other one I have, which is slimmer and less heavy and good for days when I have to carry either a laptop or a tablet or a bit of paperwork, not all three, is the Latico Roslyn - I found mine on sale at DSW last year but ebags has it in a different color.

That's a nice looking bag. It reminds me of MZ Wallace bags, which I'm a big fan of.

I *do* use a single bag for everything including my laptop when I am carrying it (not every day). I can't deal with carrying more than one bag. However, I prefer a regular large tote (right now generally my Longchamp Planetes) with a separate padded sleeve for the laptop. I don't like the built in laptop holders in bags, because they're generally not as closely fitting (whereas you can get a sleeve specifically designed for your model of laptop), plus they tend to make bags oddly boxy and stiff. The sleeve also allows me to use different bags if I want.

No experineces with this particular laptop bag, but it's worth a go I'm sure.

None of my clients have an "everything bag". They carry a laptop bag and a regular handbag. Some DO carry large totes for iPads, but not for laptops.

I have a new tablet/laptop (surface pro 3), and I'd like an "everything bag" for it. A friend recommended the Lo and Son's O.M.G. bag, which is very cute, but pricey.

Any experiences or suggestions?
