If going dressy casual, I would chose another shoe, but these would work with jeans, casual pants and longer casual skirts. Loving them -- wearing them almost daily (I do parttime childcare right now). They are amazingly comfortable and supportive. The only issue I have is that I have a very high instep and I have to stretch out this part of the leather, but it's starting to give a little with wear.</p> <p>Try them on in a store to make sure you know the right size (you may need to size up) and once you get that, consider hunting them down on ebay. The average selling /bidding price for Dansko clogs is about $30 to $100, but I found 2 pairs in my size for less than $60 (I only bought the one though).</p> <p>With regards to other shoes, keep looking b/c they will pop up. With ballet flats, you can get cushioned ones that will wear comfortably for hours but they are not "supportive" necessarily. I mean the type of basic flat shoe with a built in arch support that you can wear all day in comfort. I've found some ballet flats (Born Adeles) that I love and are pretty comfortable, but I don't think I would choose them for an all-day walking event. And inserts don't work with them. It makes them too tight and I don't want to stretch out the leather.
