I love my Dansko Marcelles. Have you checked out http://www.barkingdogshoes.com. It's a great resource for recommendations and reviews. I'm not affiliated, just a fan.

I don't mind those: it really depends what you wear them with. If going dressy casual, I would chose another shoe, but these would work with jeans, casual pants and longer casual skirts. You already have them, let's see what you can do with them before spending more.
But I would keep on eye on ebay sales of the professional (once you know your true size), it can take a little time to score a deal sometimes.

Thanks, Rosee.

Would a Professional look better than these in the pictures? I already own them. ;)

Again, I'm not stuck on Danskos and am all ears for other suggestions.

I just got a pair of Dansko professionals in blueberry (almost blue black) -- on ebay! for less than $50 including shipping to Canada!!! Loving them -- wearing them almost daily (I do parttime childcare right now). They are amazingly comfortable and supportive. The only issue I have is that I have a very high instep and I have to stretch out this part of the leather, but it's starting to give a little with wear.

Try them on in a store to make sure you know the right size (you may need to size up) and once you get that, consider hunting them down on ebay. The average selling /bidding price for Dansko clogs is about $30 to $100, but I found 2 pairs in my size for less than $60 (I only bought the one though).

With regards to other shoes, keep looking b/c they will pop up. With ballet flats, you can get cushioned ones that will wear comfortably for hours but they are not "supportive" necessarily. I'd post the ones I like best (bought 3 pairs) but they are not online.

Does such an animal exist? I mean the type of basic flat shoe with a built in arch support that you can wear all day in comfort. I've found some ballet flats (Born Adeles) that I love and are pretty comfortable, but I don't think I would choose them for an all-day walking event. And inserts don't work with them. It makes them too tight and I don't want to stretch out the leather. The Converse I want don't have arch supports either. :(

I don't mind having mostly cute ballet type shoes, but I'm tempted to invest in one pair of Dansko Professionals and wear them like Angie suggests when I need a seriously supportive shoe: http://youlookfab.com/2010/12/.....look-cute/

Any other good suggestions?
