I'm another who uses zinc oxide and titanium oxide sunscreens b/c I really don't like the chemical sunscreens (especially as I have health issues).
http://breakingnews.ewg.org/20.....ng-truths/

So far, I found this for face, but also currently using it on my body (arms and lower legs) too until I find something less expensive for body that I like. For the face, it works well with oilier skin types but it is not necessarily mattifying (not non-matte either).
http://www.iherb.com/MyChelle-.....8-ml/11076

Facial sunscreens are the bane of my life!!!! I have some discolouration on my right cheek which I don't want to get any worse but finding one which suits my skin is a nightmare. I have spent a fortune on facial sunscreens over the past year most of which have been discarded because they, make my eyelids itch and swell (I don't put the cream on my eyelids it seems to melt down from my forehead into my eyes), make my face itch, make it greasy, give me spots........ The one I'm most happy with is Peter Thomas Roth ultra lite oil free SPF 30. It's not my holy grail though as I still keep trying other things, I may give the uber dry one a go it looks like a couple of people here have said its good x

I ahve very sensitive skin but neutrogena worked for me too. However, it did leave a white cast so since coming to France I have switched to Bioderma's SPF 50 sunscreen for intolerant skin. I really love it. Non greasy, no white cast and zero breakouts.

Be careful with the spray sunscreen with kids - the chemicals can be inhaled. I stopped using it for my girls and stick to zinc or titanium-based sunscreen creams for the whole family.

I use Image skincare Daily Defense Hydrating Moisturizer spf 30 for my face (dry, sensitive, rosacea).

@Echo - I switched to the PTR Uber Dry for the same reasons you mentioned. I think it is more mattifying than the Neutrogena that is supposed to be similar.

I do like sprays for the kids/DH and for bringing to soccer games and beach - it's easier to get them to stay still while I spray quickly.

I have switched to a Eucerin lotion with spf for my hands and arms - it's not sticky and also moisturizes.

I have been using Eucerin SPF 50 for for sensetive skin(for my face) for quite sometime, its light and dries very quickly(its also oil free). And then I use Hawaiian Tropics with same SPF on the rest of my body. I really like this brand because it smells nice and moisturizes unlike many other suncreens which have chemical odor. I use this just as everyday sunscreen(and I don;t sit out on the sun but I do walk to work so I am out for 40 min or so). If I was actually going to the beach, I would use Banana Boat spray with SFP70 or 100. I usually stay in the shade but I am very fair so I don't want to get burned

I use a different once on my face/chest (and I actually skip the rest of my body...it's seattle, after all!)

I have been really liking products from this company:

I'm still searching, to be honest. I've tried almost everything out there for my face but I have VERY oily skin and the Neutrogena dry touch and liquids don't help. I suppose it is hard to find a sunscreen that actually works as a mattifier, too, though. But I use the Neutrogena sheer liquids on my body. It may not be intended for body use, but I find that I almost never have to reapply if I use that, so it is actually as economical as using a different formula that I have to put on multiple times.

I've been quite pleased with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunscreen SPF 70 for my face:

http://www.neutrogena.com/prod.....+spf+70.do

Pros? It dries to a non-shiny, non-greasy finish, and plays very well with makeup, compared to the numerous other sunscreens I've tried. When you first apply it to your face, it doesn't seem like it will work well as a 'base' for makeup, but just let it dry properly and you'll be amazed. Very matte finish. Doesn't cause shiny-face or make-up slide-off.

In fall/winter/early spring, I've been quite happy with this simple Olay one:

http://www.ulta.com/ulta/brows.....rod3250343

On my body I use leftover 'other' sunscreens that didn't make the cut, and/or Neutrogena Cool Mist spray-on sunscreen:

http://www.neutrogena.com/prod.....+spf+45.do

I keep these 'cool mist' sprays handy. I like them because I can quickly spray all over, including on top of my head, and on toes etc., even if I have sandals on. I don't use it on my face, but I find the cool mist spray very useful for the rest of my body, come summertime. Don't laugh, but if I'm going to be out for hours walking around in the sun, I keep one of these sprays in my handbag. I even have one right by the front door, so I remember to spray it on before taking doggie for a walk - it's gotten pretty hot and sunny lately.

The daily facial sunscreen is an automatic thing...remembering to apply everywhere else means putting the sunscreen by the front door. Kind of like keeping your keys or important things in a basket near the entry of your home.

I prefer physical blocks (titanium dioxide etc) and Neutrogena doesn't suit me too well. I prefer a 'dry' finish, but in hot humid weather I find that beach/swim formulations stick better. Dry heat on the other hand requires moisture, which the 'dry finish' type doesn't seem to provide enough of.

Currently using a combination of an Indian brand (Fabindia; extremely satisfactory for lack of stickiness) for humid climates, and Avon's urban protection day cream (SPF 30 I think) for the face, plus a photostable water-resistant SPF 20 (I think it's the Skin So Soft sub-brand) for body in drier places. But thinking of switching to Body Shop next as have heard good reports.

Doesn't everyone use different on face and body? I thought that was the norm?

I use a different sunscreen for my face because I buy a tinted sunblock from my dermatologist (I have sensitive skin too, so I have to use a physical sun block on my face). Elta MD or something like that? And on my body I use Neutrogena. I find it dries to a more powdery finish than the kind you wear at the beach. I hate sticky sunscreen.
