Really, what they are is desert boots, but with a wedge heel.</p> <p>I wanted a bottom half that would showcase them, so this is a new proportion for me. I've had these culottes for a couple of years and love wearing them once the weather warms up. Today I noticed they are really quite long. Partly that the waist is sliding down farther than it used to since some weight loss. Anyway, I think they meet Angie's length criteria for crop flares.</p> <p>The top is my infamous Brooks Brothers shirt. Bought 2 years ago, carefully chosen to fit well, eg no gaping at the bust. Briefly, for fear of laundry mishaps I almost never wore it. And now it is too large in all dimensions. So I'm turning it into a Boyfriend shirt. First wear since realizing this was Jenna Lyons style, loose over skinny pants. This time I've used a corset belt to rein in the volume.</p> <p>The booties annoyed my ankle bones, plus it was cold this morning, so I wanted socks. I have none in taupe! so I borrowed DH's waffle weave socks and scrunched them down. Does it work or does it give me cankles? At least they matched the taupe sneakers I wore to walk to the hospital and make rounds.</p> <p>Comments? Does it work? What should I do differently next time? Can this BB shirt be redeemed? </p>
