Inge has it right IMO. My crossbody hits around the hipbone. Too low and it weighs me down too much. Too high and it looks dorky. I also agree that such a big bag is going to be really uncomfortable though, unless you don't put a lot in it. Even then, it can be tiring.

Fab purse Shiny! I would say hip bone, but agree with Bella and Khris. It's very easy to overstuff a larger back, which can lead to neck pain etc.

I agree with Bella. I also think that the best place for a cross body bag is where it will be comfoprtable as you walk. Mine hits rather low, and that works for me.

Shiny, that purse seems a little too big to my eye to wear as a cross-body bag. Especially if you are using it for a trip, you will be inclined to put a lot of stuff in it and then it will get heavy and will cause back pain. If you need a cross-body bag for this trip, I think you might be better off with something slightly smaller, like Angie's.

This new purse, which I got at NAS, comes with a cross-body strap:

http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....ust003.jpg

I think this will be very useful for the HK trip. But I'm thinking the strap needs to be shortened, and I know my local cobbler can do this. With the strap crossed over my body the purse seems to me to rest too low - hits at upper thigh.

My question is where *should* it hit? Hip bone? Crotch point? Widest part of thigh? Other? And does it make a difference with these larger bags versus the smaller ones everyone has been sporting?
