Thank you, everyone! Angie, I had read your glasses post, but I just went back and read it again. I think I get the depth issue--my eye should be centered, and right now, my eyes are too much toward the top of the frames. I'm hoping to check out the specs store near my work tomorrow, so I will try to post back with some new options!

Unless we are describing the fit in a different way, I don't think that these specs are too wide at all. They are the perfect width for your face. They are too deep, meaning that that your eye is not centred enough in the lens. The distance from the top to the bottom part of the lens is too long.

Does that make sense? Have you read my blog post on how to fit eye wear?

Agreed about their being too wide. I do think that the dark color looks nice with your coloring, though.

I agree they are too wide, and too heavy, I think. I also think you should look for a frame that goes up from the nose, rather than straight across. Whether the top falls exactly on, or just follows your brow, I think you'll need something more curved across the top in order to fit your bone structure.

Here is a link to a photo of me wearing a pair I consider flattering on me. I also have pretty round eyes and you can see how the glasses kind of match the same shape as my eye sockets (that sounds gross, but hopefully you see what I mean):

http://outfitdiary.blogspot.co.....-girl.html

I also have a crazy wide, mauve pair that don't flatter me at all, but I bought them as a kind of tongue-in-cheek pair and don't wear them when I need to look professional...(-:

http://outfitdiary.blogspot.co.....lunch.html

I'm assuming you're looking for an "every day" pair, but it's nice to have a couple pairs to wear depending on your mood!

The main issue here is that the glasses are far too wide for your face. You probably have a slightly higher prescription (like me! -3.5) and the lenses wind up 'indenting' your face at the edges - you can correct for this by wearing frames that are more narrow than your face, this way even with the 'indent,' your natural contours are still visible.

I think the frame is the wrong size for your face. So the proportions are wrong. It's not that you shouldn't wear a "larger" frame size. You may be able to...so long as it is in proportion.

Check first to see that your eyes are centred in the glass portion. Then check the fit at the nose. Does it fit snugly without pinching? Does it wobble? This can be adjusted to some degree, but not completely. Next look at the eyebrow line. There are different schools of thought on this. Some believe that the frame should BECOME the brow line (so should mirror it exactly) and some believe that the frame should closely FOLLOW the brow line. I have no fixed opinion on that myself and tend to experiment.

If you like a frame but it doesn't seem to fit right, ask if it is available in a different size.

All optometrists are not created equal when it comes to fitting glasses, either.

You have lovely eyes and a great smile and definitely want to highlight those! I like the funky look for you, and think you will eventually find a perfectly fitting pair.

I love helping choose glasses for friends...take someone with you to the store. It is too hard to decide alone! I feel these seem dark for you and too wide. I see you in a lighter shade and a softer shape. I would stay inside the frame of your face. Your eyes are gorgeous, so make sure they can be seen and the frames complement their color, and don't compete with them for attention.

So here are my current glasses. Tell me what doesn't work about them (I'm not happy with them). Thanks!
