Glad I could help!

I'm hoping this weekend I'll actually go through all my items & log them. Right now I'm just logging as I wear them, which has actually encouraged me to wear some things I haven't worn in months!

I think it will be interesting to see how my wardrobe evolves as I recognize pieces that I wear and those that never get taken out of the closet. Hopefully, I will start wearing more of the special clothes I am "saving" for some nameless event. Again, thank you.

Just an outer layer, but not a coat. It's rare for me to just wear a top (I have an indecent amount of cardigans...) But feel free to adjust it as you see fit! That's the best part about this.

I recently found this thread thanks to some googling & thought I'd share my newly created google doc for clothing tracking.

https://docs.google.com/spread.....sp=sharing

Please let me know if you have questions...I'm not an excel/spreadsheet pro by any means. But this is working for me!

Tips:
- For the "last worn" date to show correctly make sure you're putting the date in the field, not just an x or 1 or anything else.

- If you want to change what's in the drop down of "Type", highlight all the rows (except 1 where Type is entered). Right click, click on "data validation", then just change the list that is showing in the field.

- You shouldn't have to enter anything in the "Last Worn" or "# of Times Worn" columns. Those will auto-update based on what you're entering in the date columns.

- I'm not personally using columns F, G, or H, but I wanted to leave them there in case any of you found them useful.

I hope this helps!

This sounds amazing!!! And sooo super organized Excel awesomeness!

Like others Teri I plan my outfits in advance when I travel and print out an excel spreadsheet (super simple compared to yours) noting what days I will be away, what the activities are, and what I will be wearing morning, afternoon and night. It is SO helpful and rewarding to put in some time to think it over and then be stress-free during the vacay.

I would love to have a template if possible!! Looking forward to taking it for a spin

I have never really worried about cpw because i am such a bargain shopper anyway and dont have too many expensive pieces in my wardrobe.

Super-cool. I started making a list of all my items by category in Excel right after I joined YLF, but I don't think I ever officially finished it, and I hadn't thought to note actual wear days.

I think I'd shock myself with how many items I actually have if I ever sat down and wrote down literally everything I own.

WOW... and I thought I was being crazy keeping track of my outfits... lol

I just keep a folder on my desktop. I take a daily photo and organize it by weeks (so this week is week 46 and I have Mon-Friday pic in there). I can easily look between the folders and see what I;ve worn recently. If I find an outfit that I especially like I print it onto paper and I keep these in my closet for quick outfit references.

I've really enjoyed keeping track of my outfits. It really cuts down on figuring out what to wear each day. It's also very helful when packing for a trip. I'll take my pics and come up with a clothing agenda for the trip. I know exactly what to pack and what to wear on each day.

Oh, one thought that came to mind this morning, as I was thinking of inputing the sweater I am wearing into the spreadsheet - it will be also interesting for me to see how many times I can wear an item before it has to be discarded due to wearing out. I know that most sweaters font last too long for me, maybe one or two seasons, but it will be interesting to see what this means in terms of CPW. I want to compare this number with CPW for jackets or dry-clean only skirts, which might actually last longer and cost less per wear, even though the purchase price may be higher.

This is fantastic! May I ask you for that template? I think this could be useful in combination with my list. Although I still have to sort my through my things together with the list, I just didn't have the time the last few weeks.

Bella, haha, I was thinking of it in terms of a row goes horizontally and a column goes vertically, but you are also right that the columns appear across the top (horizontally) and rows appear down the side (vertically). How confusing! I'll edit the post to include a link to a visual that should better explain rows and columns.

Wow! Your system is intense (and I mean that in the best possible way).

I stick with google docs for portability but if I wanted something fuller featured, I would want something very similar to what you're using.
