Thank you very much for your lovely input, Aida, my cat blouse twin! I need to wear it soon too, it is such a fun pattern.
You and I seem to be on the same wavelength with many of these, for example, you like #8, and I do too, much better than #& that seems to be the forum favorite.

Tanya your wardrobe is pretty amazing How wonderful that these pants go with so much, that's always lovely. From this set I really like #4 (I like the jacketed version better, more crisp-to-the-max), #8 (excellent use of skin and the pops of white are joyful), #9 (fun arty lines), 11 (a little modern retro, esp. with the dotty scarf), and #12, 13 (both blouses work realllyyy well with the pants). #14 looks good, but reads much more casual to me. Incidentally only one printed top here! And also incidentally I wore mine yesterday ^^

Thank you so much for your replies, everyone! As a proper nerd, I will do some statistical analysis later and pick the outfits with most votes. I will do this for every thread with these pants, and form a final capsule with winners from the previous stage.

Joy, I really appreciatte your detailed response. I see what you mean about the tucked tops, but I do not mind because I am trying to visually shorten my torso.

CocoC, thank you for your input! I can not take the credit for the color combo though, as it belongs to Angie.

Dakotacheryl, Carter and El Cee, you are very sweet, thank you for your input!

RobinF, thank you! The blue shoes are the most comfortable of the bunch, and I try to wear them whenever I have a chance.

CJh, you input is much appreciatted. I think you are right about the slightly darker blue working well with tomato.

Rachy, thank you for your input! That outfit is certainly the most unconventional one, I feel that people will either love it or hate it.

Suz, I remember your rust pants, and how you ended up getting rid of them. Maybe the cropped length helps indeed. We will see how often I endup wearing these tomato crops.

Angie, thank you very much for your kind words, I do love putting capsules
together from my closet.

I'm on my phone so I will reply in stages. First of all, this is a perfect way to wear a colour that you don't think is your best colour. And you are Queen Capsule, Tanya.

Sweet combo! The only one I'm not sure of is the sweater vest over the button down. I feel the fabrics might tangle eachother up...

12 is my favorite. I like the print - a bit bolder blue with white gives a light effect but is somehow more colorful; and the shape seems really a good balance with the close fitting cropped pants.

Gorgeous, Tanya. Waving to my shirt twin for 12 and 13 -- which happen to be two of my favourite looks here!

I also love 2 and 11. Stunning on you! You are going to have so much fun with these pants.

I tried to do something similar a few years -- I bought a pair of burnt orange Sloans from BR. A colour I like but that I cannot wear near my face. I discovered what you have -- they literally went with 9/10ths of my wardrobe!! But -- I couldn't get used to myself in bright pants. I had to pass them on to MsMary! Strange, since I love wearing bright skirts! I think it was the expanse of bright to my feet and I suspect I'd have more luck with a bright pair of cropped trousers like these -- so that a bit of skin breaks up the bright.

The tomato with light blue looks so fresh. I think my eye needs to readjust to fully tucked tops because I like the waist line broken up by the jacket in 1-2 and 3-4. However, I like 5 best without the jacket, maybe as it seems a softer tuck. My favorites are 8, 12 and 13. I think because I like the proportions best. Everything looks great on you. I am intrigued by 9-10, but think I'd like the outfit better without the assymetric top over the blue tunic or that top layer worn on it's own.

This is going to be the first post in the series of many that will deal with creating a capsule for my wild card cropped kick flare tomato red pants. Shockingly, they go with about half of my wardrobe color wise, which is very surprising considering that I own basically nothing else in this color and that the color is too warm for me to be worn near my face. The main kind of input I am looking for is you picking your favorite tops/outfits for these pants, as I am hoping to build the final capsule with only the very best options. Also feel free to suggest switching over of various and toppers and shoes you will see in this post. There will be many posts in this series because I am aiming to limit the number of photos in a single post to 15, so please feel free to comment as little or as much as you like.

The first color scheme I am going for is based on Angie's ensemble post from last year which combines tomato red with light blue and white. I have tons of light blue in my wardrobe because my eyes are light blue and thus it is one of my best colors, plus a lot of my denim is light blue too. I am dividing this pairings into two posts. In this post we have the pants combined with various light blue tops, and some of them have white toppers added on. Please excuse the wrinkles, I pulled out lot of these items from various storage bins and they need good steaming.

#1/2: With tucked-in and wrapped chambray shirt, and white linen blazer
# 3/4 With tucked-in blue/white striped shirt and white moto
#5/6 With tucked in silk turtleneck blouse and cream lace bomber
#7/8 With blue shell and white linen long vest
#9/10 Proportion experiment with chambray shirtdress and asymmetric sleeveless white sweater tunic
#11 With blue off-the shoulder top and skinny white scarf
#12 With semi-tucked soft blue silk cat blouse
#13 With knotted light blue tuxedo shirt
#14 With semi-tucked linen blue sweater
#15 With side-tucked mesh blue sweater
