A thermal layer under the turtleneck probably would have been ideal. Our weather is beautiful, but tricky, and requires strategic layering. If the sun is shining it can feel quite warm, even in cooler temperatures. But with no sun it’s chilly. We had new snow tonight and some is coming down now , I am wearing velvet pants under a wool dress and another under layer of a long sleeved rash guard on top. I am still standing in front of our fireplace to warm up more. It is snowing outside. Birds are busy at the feeders. One time they’re 9 magpies and 13 turtle doves and many finches and other small birds. Flickers are also big birds who are regular visitors but magpies are the largest. Flocks of bush tits are the smallest. They come twice a day for suet. Today the Downey woodpecker tolerated them eating with him.
