The wall hanging will include a six bird section….smaller than pictured….&nbsp;</p> <p>I recently joined a knitting group and am trying to improve and learn new skills. The first project I chose to work on with the group is this tweed sweater with cables. &nbsp;I used a tubular (provisional yarn) cast on, and double pointed needles for the sleeves. &nbsp;It’s knit top down and without seams. &nbsp;All these techniques are new to me…. &nbsp;Each row of the torso pattern is different, so it requires close attention, counting, stitch markers, etc. &nbsp; The knit shop owner warned me in advance that it would not be an easy knit. &nbsp;It was not. &nbsp;I have one more sleeve to complete, and a few stray pieces of yarn to weave. &nbsp;I’m happy with the result and expect it will be finished this week. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I joined the Stephen West MKAL (mystery knit along), which is a shawl <br />pattern using new to me stitches and techniques. &nbsp;My shawl has many mistakes but it’s fun and I’m learning. There is brioche stitching in the next section and I’m looking forward to a new challenge!</div><div><br /></div><div>I have my next knitting project lined up. And there are some items I just *cannot* do secondhand (like something that isn't washed often &amp; is worn near your face, lol). If I made a hat though, then I could tweak it to exactly the right proportions (or just reproduce a vintage version). </p> <p>Please do show us what you come up with I think you &amp; I have somewhat similar faces (with that soft 'romantic Kibbe' undercurrent) so it would be helpful to see what works! </p> <p>--- </p> <p>Haha @SF I always thought recorders were *supposed* to sound bad?
