I like all of the footwear you've paired it with, including the chunkier black boots. My two cents re. styling it with chunkier boots is to go more oversized/layered on the top, to complement the boots (the slim-fitting cardigans you've got on are more classic, to my eye, and so paired with the classic skirt, the boots seem like the outlier).
