Mine are the soft soled boiled wool because I like to sit on the furniture with my feet curled up. I like the idea of the hard soles but for me I think it would be too much like wearing a shoe. They are unlined boiled wool. They are a thick fabric and being boiled wool the water repels if the family has a horrid virus over Christmas and you have to just run out to the pharmacy in your "slippers".</p> <p>I find the support excellent, much better than any true slipper and really warm.
