Yes! I love the current selection of the cardis, too. I find them very comfy and still dressy enough for my lifestyle, if styled in the right way.

I recently bought one aztec pattern (see in nr. 1) and I love it for work and one in a chunckier knitt black with metallic thread and zippered front (biker style) for more casuals(see in in nr. 2-3) which I styled it like in nr. 4 and 5(excuse the no makeup, guffy faces& unstyled hair-as picties were taken for my personal refference, only).

BUT am not finished yet:-). Am still on the hunt for a longer than knee length(like in Agie's today ensembles), too!

BTW, all of yours are gorgeous and I say go for them!

Adelfa: Here you on blazers! What I like is expensive, and sometimes even that doesn't come in my size! What an amazing selection of sweaters you have! I just may have to order that Tildon sweater myself in burgundy! And I can't wait to see what the purple cardi looks like in your wardrob. I think this style of sweater is perfect for the LA climate, too.

I've never heard of prohibitions on skinnies -- unless it's because they're denim. It would make me want to wear, oh, I don't know.......leather pants!

Thimbelina: Love the J. Crew! It would tempt me, except for that dropped shoulder seam. It hits my arm in the most unflattering of places. I can enjoy it on you and other fabbers!

Cheryl: I am so grateful to have so many options for wonderful sweaters this year! Ponte blazers are a great middle ground, too!

Jackie: You are correct in noting that #2 is probably the one that most reflects my core style. I'm coming to terms with the fact that the "romantic" side of my dressing is still very much alive. Rich color and feminine, but not twee, patterns are a big part of that.

Aubergine: I think the J. Crew is a perfect refresh for your wardrobe. Navy pleases me these days, too, and I now have a navy jacket and two sweaters.

FC: So glad to see your new fuzzy sweater. Thanks for linking to your post, which I missed in the midst of a hectic week! I love the way you wear this look with leggings -- the silhouette is perfect. And your thoughtful comments are greatly appreciated -- you have a true sewist eye for detail!

Beth Ann, you're reading my mind--or I yours (more likely). This fall I completely gave up on blazers, which are really hard to fit on me. Also I never feel quite me in them. Then I made the leap to modern cardis! Quite a jump because I'm super traditionalist about cardis. Until now.

Below are my new cardis, in the order I acquired them. I found them by searching "cardigan" on the Nordy website.

1. The marled black and white feels very casual to me. I wear it on weekends and casual Fridays. It is too heavy to keep on all day, so it doesn't work to "decentize" a pair of skinnies--my boss said we can wear skinnies if our bums and upper thighs are covered. But it is super cozy and I love it.

2. Oh my, I have discovered that I love the cocoon silhouette! Who knew! This one is super lightweight and I can keep it on as part of an all-day outfit. My trepidations at ordering from the Juniors department were put to rest by the fact that the website actually said to size down! I did, and there is PLENTY of room.

3. This is my holy grail modern cardi. It is the perfect cozy soft weight to keep the chill off in underheated conference rooms. I feel elegant and wonderful.

4. Not pictured. I must admit that today, during a short break from giving a training to 24 therapists on managing assaultive behavior, while wearing my HG cardigan in said chilly conference room, I ordered your purple cardi! Just the thing I was missing from my capsule!

Aquamarine, I think you're right. The newer silhouettes are so much more elegant that it's inspiring to try them.

I wonder how many other fabbers are enjoying modern cardis....

Oh, and I forgot to share my latest cozy cardigan (below). I tried it on at Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and didn't get it. Then I saw it a few weeks later, marked down again, and I decided to go ahead and get it. It's a fuzzy knit (acrylic, nylon, wool blend) that reminds me of the fuzzy cardigans I used to borrow from my mother when I was in high school. They were too big for me, the sleeves were too long, they were unflattering autumn colors for me, and I loved them. So I bought this cardigan with the idea that I don't actually care whether it looks stylish on me or not. It may be total frumpville, and I might just wear it around the house, but I just felt like I needed to have it. I finally got to wear it this past week, as the temperature got low enough.

All three are great finds for you, Beth Ann. I like how different they all are. The medallion print tee in outfit 1/2 is gorgeous on you, and I love that outfit both ways with the cranberry Munros. The whole look just makes me smile, with all the sumptuous color. And you can add me to the chorus of wildcard admirers. That is one fabulous sweater on you. It does look uncharacteristically geometric for you, but good grief, it's so flattering on you. Something about all those diagonal lines, I guess. It just seems to give you extra height. (And the color you got is so much prettier on you than the neutral one in your finds--good choice!)

Yay for cozy, drapey cardigans! I think they all look great and love how they work equally well with jeans and pencil skirts. And I know what you mean about how easy the torso-skimming fit makes things.

I actually haven't bought much in the way of new cardigans for the fall/winter (for now!), but I do have a newish one from J. Crew that I really like. It's just oversized enough without feeling too boxy, and I'd been missing a navy cardigan for a while, so it's nice to have one again.

Great collection! I'm rebuilding my cardigan collection which had dwindled to one fitted black cashmere v-neck. I bought the slouchy red crew one in aviamaria's picks & I love it. Also rearranged my storage shelves to accommodate more in this area. I need a bold wild card cardigan too I think!

UF: I bought these from Kohl's last season (Sonoma). There is a version this year, with a more fashionable pointy toe, but mine are real suede. This year? Faux. Sign of the times! They are great for high volume feet, and do fit well at the ankles (although mine are far from delicate).

Ah! The wildcard is a favorite! I enjoy this on in the spring, too.

AvaMariah: You and I are on the same wavelength, although my babies are 12/13! I particularly like grey/black selection!

Sarah: For casual wear, I purchased a couple of Cuddleduds from Kohls for under these sweaters -- so very soft and easy to wear. My work environment is overheating, so I like my sleeveless choices there, even in the dead of winter!

Aqua: It's a good year for knitwear, as Angie's been telling us. I love looks that are arty, but not too boho --- I've been lucky this year!

I have been stocking up too, after quite a few years of wearing just jackets. I think cardigan shapes have really evolved. They used to be proper/prim or too country (for want of a better word). The last few years, they have morphed into artsy/flowing, which suits me much better.

Great cardis. Jackets never really quite do it for me; I always still feel a little cold.

As for experiences... now you've done it. You had to ask: I'm so sad. My favourite sweater of all time has been eaten alive by moths. It had one little hole for awhile, but now it's swiss cheese. It has to be tossed. The pain of putting cashmere like that in the trash... WAAH WAAH WAAH!

It lost its label a long time ago, so I don't know how to get another, which probably isn't possible anyway. WAAH WAAH WAAH!

You know what, I probably need to look for things like this instead of the jackets/blazers I had in my mind. I LOVE the wildcard and the first one is great too. Good analysis on how you can use them across capsules/functions.

I really think I like your wildcard the best! Surprising because any guess would put me with the purple, but your wildcard is fun and looks really versatile!

I'd hoped to add a couple of jackets this season, but I've not found suitable candidates (at least in my price range). I was a bit disappointed, until I realized that I have had much better luck finding yummy cardis. In my work environment, a dressy sweater is quite appropriate. These cardis also provide casual styling options, as well, for days off and teach-from-home needs. Maybe next year will be a jacket year!

1/2. Macy's INC sweater. This knit is wonderfully smooth and refined, and a perfect weight for a sweater posing as a jacket. I sized up so the back would drape luxuriously. I've paired it with a new layering piece from Target (Merona). This bright print will make my holiday capsule, but will be wearable with lighter tones in spring and fall. It's generous in fit, particularly in the abdomen. I didn't size down, because I wanted the fluid feeling. In #1, I'm wearing my Munro Robyn's from last year, and Levi's Midrise Skinnies. In #2, I've paired the toppers with an old sweater knit skirt and navy tights. It was quite cold, so I layered slip shorts over the tights for a bit more warmth.

3 Kohls AB Studio Sweater. This has more of a chevron effect in the front than is visible here, and a subtle high/low hem and a nice, drapey back. I debated on keeping this one, since it has limited mixing potential, but cobalt is a mainstay for me. Here I've paired it with textured tights, pencil skirt and warm booties. I will wear tall boots with it later in the season, and I'll also pair it with black skinnies.

4/5. Grace Element Statement Sweater, Macy's. This one had a divided reception on the forum when I posted it late last spring. It isn't my typical colors or pattern, but it does work with lots of wardrobe items, and it gives me a bit of variety -- it's a welcome wildcard, I guess. I like this best with my bfs -- as in 4, but it dresses up well with a tapered pencil.

What've I learned? I love drapey knit cardis of medium weight --- great for someone who runs warm, but lives in a cold climate. I don't might my hips looking, well, hippy, and I like not working about shape wear in the torso! Anyone else have good experiences to share with cozy cardis?
