Does this HUGE cowl give you more of the effect of “a slash” neckline? This will work for narrow shoulders (which I have too), giving you width and making your waist look smaller. Perhaps this cowl is high and rests comfortably on the bustling instead of adding to it?

Hmm, that leaves much to be thought about. I have a tunic sweater with a huge (HUGE) chunky cowl that drapes over my shoulders, but the rest of the sweater is relatively fitted and knit in a much finer gauge. The contrast seems to make me appear thinner and longer, but I haven't really thought about how it looks over my chest. I hope it works out because it's one of my favorite sweaters.

Both busty and non-busty women can wear cowls. It depends on the cut of the cowl and the fabric of the top. A cowl in a chunky knit is not the way to go if you have a prominent bust. Something in a fine gauge knit is better. It always is. Low cowls are usually better for smaller chests. Experiment with cowls and see what you think. You can definitely wear the right cowl neck.

What body types benefit most from cowl neck tops? I know it's generally better for busty women to opt for open necklines, but I have always liked cowl necks because the extra volume up top seems to help give my waist some definition. My chest is prominent, but not huge so I'm wondering if it really works or if I'm just in denial.
