Hope you’re feeling 100% better soon! And stay well for your trip!

One of my photography friends went to Romania for an artist residency and tested positive with Covid upon entry, so they had to quarantine for a week. All they had was a stuffy nose! No fever, nothing else. Which makes me wonder if I’ve already had it and never knew, since I’ve had stuffy nose issues on and off in the past two years! We’ve been pretty careful but hubs got Covid on a trip to TX. I’ve tested once when I got a bad cold earlier this year but it turned up negative, so AFAIK I’ve never had it. Still, my friend’s experience makes me wonder.

HI all. Thank you for your warm get-well wishes. I'm finally feeling back to normal after 2 weeks. I did test negative after one week, but then I had a horrible sinus infection along with a very bad sore throat. I ended up self medicating by gargling salt water and keeping very hydrated. I still have nasal dripping but I think it has to do with the dry cold weather. Hubby still hasn't gotten COVID and hoping he doesn't since we have our Portugal anniversary trip coming up. Crossing fingers.

Hi - hope you are back on your feet by now. I've only had Covid once (so far, right?), this past July. My husband and I had initial success with Paxlovid, but then rebounded several days later when the symptoms recurred. I didn't test positive again, but he did. I feel like that drug just hasn't been fully calibrated yet.
Fingers crossed your husband stayed healthy, and that you are off to Portugal on schedule.

Oof I'm so sorry My husband is convinced that you can't get COVID within a few months of catching it, so this is good to know! Well, not 'good' but you know what I mean!

Please get lots of rest - even with 4 doses, the brain fog was so bad when I caught it that I couldn't properly function for 2 weeks (we have to mask & scan in everywhere we go here in HK so I just didn't leave the house, or work...) Even though cancelled plans suck, hopefully we will be able to have them later down the road (I'm hosting my delayed 30th next month, fingers crossed it can be done!)

Oh no! Hope you’re feeling better now.

I haven’t had it at all, that I’m aware of. But I have a friend who just got quarantined as she was entering Romania for an artist retreat, testing positive even though she only had a stuffy nose. It makes me wonder if I’ve had it a couple of months ago when I basically just had symptoms of a stubborn head cold.

My husband got it while on a trip to Texas. Not bad but an inconvenience. We’ve been pretty careful and staying up to date on boosters.

We know some people who have had it as many as four times. Yikes!

My son and I never got it. In my extended family—parents, 2 married siblings with 2 kids each, one of those kids married—I think only one sister and her husband have gotten it. Not sure if we have good hygiene, hearty immune systems, or are just antisocial, lol.

Hope you are starting to feel better. I have had covid 3 x. The 3rd was by far the worst. It was in July and am still experiencing sinus problems from it. So unpredictable as everyone is under the impression next cases will be milder and also that the omicron version is milder. Not so in my case. I am 56 yrs and usually physically healthy and active. It really knocked me out this last time.

I don't know if I ever had Covid, but have a long term cough- which I get every winter. It freaks out my dad and my clients, but I'm not sick otherwise.

I did get really sick right before Covid was a thing- couldn't even really get out of bed for like 5 days :/
Hope you recover quickly!

Many and much sympathy to you.l am just getting over my first dose of Covid. Two weeks of worse than a cold, not as bad as flu symptoms, sore throat and a cough.Didn’t feel better until l tested negative on Day 13 improving each day now but still have a cough. In the uk we don’t have any antiviral treatments available to us unless we are on a special list with the doctor of the immune compromised other wise we are expected to deal with it ourselves at home!My daughter is on her second bout of Covid, first one back in the spring she had the same symptoms as l have just had but slightly less as she’s a lot younger than me,this time it’s been completely different for her, fatigue and headache were the symptoms which she put down to something else and it was only picked up because we routinely tested before attending a family do.l do hope that you feel better soon ,rest, lots of hot drinks and if you are worried about your cough speak to your doctor.

Hi citygirldc. Sorry about the COVID. I had a moderate case recently and was sick for three weeks. I am well now. I did not take paxlovid and also had bad coughing. But I was concerned that it turned into bronchitis or pneumonia. My husband had it first and his evolved to be more gastrointestinal while mine was coughing. Fully vaxed as well. I believe this is the second time I have had COVID. The other time was right before the pandemic and I didn’t know what it was.

I got a lot of rest, kept hydrated and drank a lot of tea. Hope you get well soon.

That’s a bummer :(

Knock wood, me and my immediate family have not come down with covid. I’ve had four shots, the last being the bivalent.

My extended family, one of my uncles got it and did paxlovid - you do have to watch for the rebound positive test.

So sorry to hear this. It's such a pain and what rotten timing for you.

I've had it, but only once so far. My kid also had it and had the persistent cough -- the doctor said it can take a month to go away. It did go away (a little quicker than that).

I hope the antiviral helps and you feel better very soon.

DS#1 had Covid lasting about 1 week in July. He caught a flu the end of November (tested negative for Covid throughout) that ran it’s course in 3 days, but was left with a persistent cough which he is still dealing with 3 weeks later. Honey based lemon toddies seem to help. All the pharmacies are sold out of cough suppressant. Anecdotally, I’ve been hearing about persistent coughs subsequent to illness this season.

I have a sister-in-law who had two rounds very close to each other. She tested positive after attending a conference, got on a plane the first day after testing negative, then got it again while at her destination.

Best guess about that: second time was a variant her immune system didn't recognize yet.

We must be the only household in the country where neither of us has had it yet. Or we had it asymptomatically.

So sorry, cgdc, I know it's a miserable thing. Hope the Paxlovid helps!

Hi all. i’ve been busy with work, plus my upcoming retirement and a holiday party at work that i ended up getting COVID within 2 months of my first one. This meant canceling our Xmas trip to down South which was something we were looking forward to.

Symptoms for me are a bit milder than last however I have been coughing more. My doctor prescribed Paxlovid so am hoping it’s working. I tested this last Sunday after a bad sore throat, then called doctor about the antiviral on Tuesday, managed to start taking that night so hoping i’m made it within 5 day time frame.

Have you all had Covid a second time and what was your experience? Should I be worried about this cough?

Thanks for input.
