I tried the semi-permanent color but didn't like the flat color result until it had faded some. I don't get roots, it just fades away. It takes me a half hour every other month or so.</p> <p>I've had zero luck with the color shampoos but a color depositing conditioner can help extend the life of my color. The brand that I had been using was discontinued though. With my dark hair grey roots stand out a lot more. I have tried semi permanent and permanent colours but none of them lasted more than a couple of weeks and it is a lot of work to do at home. I got root touch up system today that Isabel is talking about. That way it stays localized and I don't color chunks of hair. Does anyone have any suggestions for color-depositing shampoos or something that would tint these silver strands a bit more browny? </p>
