I met an Italian woman a couple of years ago whose trousers and jeans were consistently about 1.5 inches shorter than I would have hemmed them. She was incredibly stylish and was clearly doing it on purpose. Her shoes were divine. All because of her, I started hemming my pants shorter (this was pre-Angie!) with, I would say, mixed results.
