Daria -- the 14 is a UK size. My US size is 16-18 depending on brand. I just find it interesting to flip between sizing when going international. I need some kind of clothing calculator. As long as it fits, I write it down and order that size again next time. :-/

Thanks so much Gaylene for the explanation; need to take another look now at which fabric I want in pjs'.

Update I looked at Boden but only saw printed, I would prefer dark colored solids for the bottom(s) and happy to do brighter color or prints for the top(s).

I know both Nautica and R. Lauren have the type of item I am seeking but the price is way over my budgeted amount.

Hope you find your cotton bottoms, but just to set the record straight, Modal and Tencel are actually 50% more absorptive than cotton, much smoother to the touch (think silk instead of cotton) and able to maintain their softness through multiple wash cycles since soap residue doesn't stick to the fibre's ultra smooth surface. The ultra smooth surface of the fibre also prevents bacterial buildup much better than cotton. These anti-microbial, ultra-absorptive properties, along with the lightweight softness, are why Modal and Tencel have become so popular for technical gear and underwear. People who have sensitive skin often find Modal and Tencel much easier to wear than cotton.

In addition, there are also many who consider the newer manufacturing techniques make Modal and Tencel a more environmentally friendly choice than regular cotton, which uses some rather nasty pesticides. Organic cotton is good, but it does come at a higher price point.

Of course, sleepwear is a very personal choice, but I don't think it's right to lump Modal and Tencel in with synthetics like polyester and nylon. Its properties are quite different

Author Linda - in UK sizes or US? Boden I usually wear one size larger (in US sizes) than in American retailers. Maybe it's just me though.

In Boden pajama bottoms and pants, I order a size 14. Which I find rather flattering because in U.S. sizes I wear a 16-18. Land's End is 18. Eileen Fisher is an L for me. I'm a curvy gal. Hope that helps.

Laura-I think the reason I don't want Modal is I want something that really "breathes" and keeps me cool at night

Author Linda-How does Boden sizing run? I always think I might not fit into their items...I would need an XL

Also thanks to the person who suggested I look in the Men's dept., might do that.

Will ck out everyone's suggestions, thank you

What is up with all the modal haters on this forum? I love my modal pjs.

Lands End might be another good source for cotton. Vermont Country Store, but they might just have nightgowns in the women's section. Garnet Hill has nice organic cotton pj sets.

I love my Boden pajama bottoms. Pretty, 100% cotton, and substantial enough to be good for lounging also. Currently $33 on sale. I've worn mine for over a year and they still look like new. Though the description says machine wash and air dry, I throw mine in the dryer. They come through just fine.

LLbean has some cotton options (see example in my finds).
I should warn you however that my pair ripped within a year. Not the quality I would expect, given they are not exactly cheap.

Hi njw. Is it worth having a look in the men's section? (Assuming you'd fit a size there) You might be more likely to find something plain and without added exotic fibres. Which part of the world are you in? (I'm new here)

My beloved Target super comfy Target pj pants have totally worn out. I am desperate to replace them. Went to our Target yesterday and every single one had "model" in them which I do not want. I just want plain (no print) navy or black, etc. Any suggestions on where I might find new ones? Hope to stay under $20-25.00
