Like JAileen, we used to use one for our dog when we lived in Las Vegas, if we were going to be outside in the middle of the day with him. They're popular at agility and other dog sporting events. Never seen a human version, but I have seen people using those cooling gel neck-wraps and bandanas. I've only ever dunked a plain old cotton bandana in ice water.

Try using cotton bandana scarves soaked in cold water, wrung out and twisted into a "necklace", tied at the back around your neck. They will stay damp and cool you for hours. If it dries out, it can quickly and easily be deactivated with more water. If outside hiking, you can spritz it with insect repellent. They can be frozen if you want lots of cool.

A friend gave us one for our Scottie. I never think of it, but I should have brcause he did not like our record breaking hot summer. It has popsicle like things that fit into narrow sleeves.

Does anyone own/wear a cooling vest for sports, exercising, medical conditions, working in the heat, etc? At times I really get overheated while exercising and my trainer is looking to get a few for the club, but I think I may want to get my own that will fit me and possibly one for DH when he works outside.

There is no a whole lot of info out there, but from what I gather it seems that the gel ones are the best and that they should be snug and worn over clothing. Thanks in advance.
