I tried the outfit with ballet flats to play the retro look up, but it makes the legs even longer and the torso even shorter. Besides the ensemble said ankle strap shoes, and I'm very obedient :)</p> <p>Well, the kimono was hanging on a consignment shop hanger...that's how it was styled when I bought it. There's not enough fabric to wrap it around my waist though, it would be more like a shirt tied in front and that might be too bulky, I'll give it a try.</p> <p>AJ : thanks, it's a bit long for dresses, might work if I find a magical way to tie it. If I didn't have the comparison of the second look, I would think the first look is fine. The second look makes your legs look long and lean which is perhaps a preference of some people, but I like the high waisted look of the pants in the first look. I also like the open shirt with the shorts. </p> <p>I wonder what would happen if the blouse was a bit looser in the first look? Maybe not tucked so neatly?
