I love the styling.<br /> I shop at thrift stores, mainly vintage jewelry and occassionaly a bag or a scarf. I used to be able to find some nice clothing items, but the chances are much slimmer now when thriftning has become a main stream popular activity. Some thrift shops have renovated and rearrange the entire shop to look like a regular retail store or a department store, it looks more clinical than before, everything is super organized, prices are a lot higher and the choice of interesting items is rather limited, it is possible to make a score occasionaly, though, But I would say the whole experience is less fun than it used to be, I miss the hunt in the somewhat chaotic places full of interesting charming items. I prefer thrift stores to consignment stores as I find the prices in the latter still a bit high often. I can get better prices for good mid-range or “bridge” brands ( thanks to April for that term) in the sales at my favourite boutique. I don’t spend time trawling online sites because I am trying to reduce the number of items I buy.<br /> My most recent thrift purchases were last year- a top with pretty colours for $4, really nice cream summer pants for $5, and a yellow dress $7 for the Haldi (turmeric) ceremony for the Hindu wedding I am attending soon. Also last winter a lovely soft wool blazer/skirt combo for $15. I didn’t fit the skirt but my schoolteacher daughter did!<br /> Your new skirt looks wonderful on you. Styled it with a thrifted belt and sandals too. </p> <p>They have a few cool consignment stores in this trendy part of town that I enjoy checking out because it seems&nbsp;there's always some fun, fashionable pieces to discover there. </p> <p>These stores are pretty particular on what they'll accept and everything must be cleaned first. They also steam most items before putting them out on the floor.
