Well...I am still partial to the green (possibly bias,my only winter coat is black and I feel kinda blah about it lately). So that is my vote. But you really can't go wrong with either one.

I love it, and for that amount of money, I’d wear it with everything. Besides, when it’s cold, it’s cold.

Sterling, yes — black just seemed to be the typical choice. But the distinctive length of this one seems to make it more dramatic and stylish than the usual plain black puffer.

Thanks, all! It was the last one in stock in the area so I jumped on it, to try at home for a final decision.

I think it is a good idea to buy it and compare the two of the at home. Is the only reason you didn't want black was because it is common?

Ahh, thanks for the added feedback! I’m going to swing back and buy the black one as well, and compare at home. The black one really speaks to me, despite the fact that it’s the most common color!

Angie, I have a fuzzy blue-teal hat, but it’s not as comfy as my others. I’ll have to keep an eye out for another slouchy cashmere beret in teal. I have light grey, cream, and blue, but black is my default.

love the 2nd one as well...
a couple of things to think about....the 1st one is dry clean only, is the 2nd? personally i prefer machine washable since they puffers are often covered in salt etc.... the 1st has mutlple ways to close, while the 2nd is zip only--given a choice, i like have 2 options...
is the 2nd one down? i also vote for down as its a natural insulator, and IMO works better in a range of tempatures, YMMV.

Your trip sounds incredible - hope you have some art museums in your itinerary! Prague is my favorite city in the world.

Vienna is gorgeous too - you'll see some INCREDIBLE winter fashion (a lot of stunning wool coats and probably a bunch of real fur). Maybe you'll bring home a loden wool item as a nice souvenir :)

Good choice for a great itinerary, and it will dress up very nicely. Puffers are as ubiquitous here in Europe as they are everywhere else, and of course it's lightweight and practical for the holiday. Then again, I'm also a huge fan of layers under an oversized topper, so for a shorter trip I might consider the woollen coat, y'know, for the sake of looking a little different in a sea of quilted nylon.

Either way, can't go wrong. Have a lovely time!

The coat is very flattering and I really like the color. It will be perfect for traveling. I was just in London and took my coat which is similar to that. It worked out well as I could fit some layers underneath if I needed and also wear to with a dress. Yours is nicer than mine, you have the added detail of fur which brings it up a notch in my opinion. Definitely take comfy and warm boots , I find my feet get so cold in Europe, it must be dampness in the ground or something as the temps are much lower here and my feet don't seem to get as cold lol.

LaP, Barbour makes great stuff! It seems to fit me well too, which seems a minor miracle somehow. I tried on a really nice waxed jacket at Nordstrom just for grins (mainly to see what size I am in their stuff) and it looked so good it made me want to buy it, even though I really don't need it!

Love it and it will be great for the holiday to Europe. I am thinking that the hood is detachable, which allows for some flexibility, as I think a hood can make an outfit look slightly more casual.

I wear my puffa with dresses and like it, because the zip covers all the dress and the length of my puffa is slightly longer than my dress length. So I would wear with dressier clothes and feel entirely comfortable.

love it, and IMO its perfect for a trip to Europe....i prefer puffers for anything "city" becuase they are lightweight so you dont mind carry them around as you go from outside to inside..and they are fab on planes since they can also act as a blanket if the plane is cold! as for the dressiness of a puffer...if we can/do wear sneakers with dresses, why not puffers....

Most of our time will be casual -- eating, shopping, walking around a LOT sightseeing. We will have a couple of dressier occasions (classical music concert, dinner at a fancy restaurant, New Year's Eve), but mostly this will be a jeans and sweaters kind of trip. I think hubs is going to bring one sport coat and a pair of dress pants and shoes. But out of three weeks, I expect that we will have three occasions MAX where I will wear a dress. This is knee length, and my dress is midi length, so a bit of hem might peek out below the coat. I'll probably just take a pair of heeled booties similar to the one of the Finds below (no really fancy pumps, unless I go shopping for some!) to wear with my Fuzzi dress, and maybe one other dress as well.

Love the color and would absolutely choose to wear it over a dress for dressy occasions while traveling. It’s practical and beautiful and you would coat check it in a dressy setting anyways.

I love it and what a great color. Those cities can be cold - I have visited Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg in January and absolutely frozen. I tend to sacrifice fashion for packing ease, so I would probably wear it over a dress, but it depends on how dressy your itinerary is.
