I wanted it to work because it doesn't have the zipper around the face which makes the Laundry hood a little heavier and stiffer. Otherwise the Laundry coat feels like a cloud or a marshmallow, which I like. The North Face coat is probably flattering on somebody, just not me. Thanks for your opinions, everyone. BTW, they're both comfortable. Joyce, I probably wouldn't wear a super heavy sweater underneath. If it were super cold I would probably wear a warmer coat, and I have a few. You'd think I lived at the North Pole. Probably because I'm from sunny California and therefore wimpy when it comes to cold and snow.</p> <p>I actually tried the North Face with both a thin fleece and a down vest underneath, and it still felt very comfortable.
