Ted Baker fits best. Make sure you like how the layers work underneath. Even if the second was brown I would still have the same opinion of it as the first, the fit issues are only acceptable if you really want to commit to the moto jacket look. And I returned a jacket that didn't have pockets, so unusable pockets would annoy me, and probably be a dealbreaker. Are you sure those things don't bother you? I like the first one best and it doesn't matter it's similar to the vest- it makes your wardrobe cohesive. I personally love the color (and fit) of the Tahari, but it sounds like you aren't feeling the merlot. Your choice seems to be between form and function.I have a bad history with jackets that aren't comfy fully zipped or have challenging pockets - they rarely get worn. The Ted looks great on you - better than the T&B (which still looks good, but less luxe and modern). So if you will still love Ted and wear it knowing it's function limitations, I say you look Fab in it. If you feel more comfortable with one that you can wear over more layers, I'd go with #1, because it looks great, too. I just think 5-6 looks so luxe and refined, and a great fit on you. I would not go for the second one, given your hesitation about the color and the hardware. And I wouldn't worry about duplicating with your vest, because I think you'll wear the jacket for different purposes, won't you? I was going to say the 2nd, the Tahari, as the color is softer but then read your comments. My choice would be the Ted Baker. Its quality even comes through on the photos. A leather jacket with these jeans and loafers is an awesome outfit. I've tried year after year to find the perfect one and I'm wondering if this might finally be the year. I have three contenders to compare. Two are Angie's picks and one was recommended by my SA. All are styled with the same jeans and cashmere T-shirt, along with the Paul Green Natasha loafers. 1, 2: Treasure & Bond (SA pick): You've seen this one before in an earlier post. It's the most comfortable to throw on because it's slightly oversized. It seems durable. Sleeves can easily be hemmed (or tucked under) because there's no zipper. Cons are that it's the least "refined" of the bunch (because it's a bit oversized and the so-so quality of the leather) and it might ben too similar to a T&B vest I picked up at NAS last year (photo 7). 3, 4: Tahari (Angie Pick): This one feels a bit long all over (body length, sleeve length) but I don't think I could size down. I'm not too crazy about the silver hw on the wine but the color overall is pretty. In my imagination, though, I always pictured a black (or even brown) first leather moto, so that would be a change in perspective. 5, 6: Ted Baker Lizia (Angie Pick): Love the details (floral lining, rose gold hw) and the leather. Looks very upscale. Sizing feels best of the three but it fits like a glove and even after sizing up it only just zips. I'll need to stick to lighter layers and use scarves for any extra warmth but I'm ok with that. Sleeves are good but the pockets are placed so far back as to render them basically unusable. If I go this route, I'll need reassurance that it looks like a good fall leather jacket and not more like a indoor jacket, though the weight certainly suggests it's fine for the elements. Help! Any and all opinions welcome!
