Thistle; Macys runs frequent sales. I also learned that sometimes in-store prices are lower than on-line ones, at least in bags. I don't go there often enough to know if that also extends to clothing. [Whereas with Nordstrom, I have found that clothing marked down on-line may be full price in the store.] Macys does not have a deadline on returns, so that takes some pressure off.

Sorry about Jeans Friday pressure! I now have many pairs of jeans, but two years ago I would have been in a real bind. I imagine the jeans don't have to be blue, right? That leaves more possibilities. . .

I can't find a babysitter, and Macy's is running a 25% off sale. Not sure if they are like Kohls and Boston Store where that is no big thing or not.

DH asked if I would just order a bunch and take back the ones that don't work. I agreed. S there should be some some KRs coming!

I need the jeans for Friday at work. It is jeans day, and everyone from the CEO on down wears jeans on Friday.

You ladies are more fashionable than I am. I was thinking some nice yoga pants or the like for loungewear and baby chasing.

And yeah, I reconsidered the white jeans unless I can get them for a steal. Toddler + white jeans = stained white jeans never worn

Good for you for committing to the wardrobe holes! I am making myself do the same this spring, since I don't really _need_ much beyond a few glaring holes (long shorts, I'm looking at you). Jeans can be a pain to find, but I agree it's wonderful HAVING that great pair in your wardrobe. If you really do like dresses that much more, it's totally fine to wear those more! If so, then you may find that three pairs of jeans ends up being overkill. One or two could be enough, and then supplement with say stretchy trousers (like a substantial stretchy twill or ponte) and a pair of relaxed pants. No need to go straight from dresses to jeans, there's plenty in between that you can rock

Thinking about myself per usual, I need loungewear that can stand up to a 9-week old puppy!

...Lol. Good list. Like Angie's blog post said: Priorities, right?

How wonderful that your DH is enjoying seeing you in dresses! As good a reason as any to delay patching the wardrobe holes!

I've upgraded my loungewear, too, since my DH works from home and I work around 3 days a week. I favor black and grey wide leg knit pants and ponte leggings with soft dolman sleeved sweaters or cardis layered over super soft tanks.

As for jeans, I remember you have a good pair of Levis. Great start! I think there's no substitute for trying things on in person, and I know its hard to carve out a chunk of time!

thistle, I also am in between sizes. I find Kut from the Kloth is a good fit & has a nice variety of sizes with rises that are not super low!
I also have a couple of other just regular ole jeans from Caslon, gap & old navy. I agree finding a good pair above a 14 can be a challenge...

Hi, Thistle. I second DonnaF's suggestion about thick ponte pants. I have a couple of pairs and they are easier to fit than jeans and very easy to wear. As comfy as PJs but with way more style!

I know you are on the hunt for jeans, too, but this could be a good alternative I hadn't thought to suggest before.

To go with these thick ponte pants I picked up some long-ish tunic tops (for coverage) in INC and Alfani brand at Macys for next to nothing - like $9 and $12 each on clearance.

If you can get to Macy's soon maybe you can find something like this in addition to or instead of your jeans quest!

Good luck and keep us posted!

How about ponte pants or leggings + tunic for loungewear? Or even really heavy ponte pants instead of jeans? [Just trying to reduce the stress and frustration factor, esp. since I know you have time constraints. . . ] You are so brave to consider white jeans with a toddler!

Would you wear jeans if you had more of them? I'm of the opinion that they can't be wardrobe holes if you don't wear them as much as you think you should. Perhaps it's because I have a few and to my recollection I wear them only once a month.

Lounge wear I agree with. Wear what makes you happy! Dresses and skirts make me happy so I wear them more than pants!

Tha is great that you have figured out the wardrobe holes! Jeans can be difficult to shop for, but it seems that you have been given some tips that should help start the process. I would probably start with a nice straight pair first in your favorite wash.

I honestly don't know. I am right between plus sized and regular sized, so I have struggled a bit.

And jeans are so hard to begin with.

And I hate buying them. I love owning a pair that fits and looks good, but not a fan of the process to get them.

I got some good advice on brands to try, I just have to get a babysitter and get myself to Macy's.

I recently discovered dresses that work on my body shape. Not only do they work, but I learned how good they look. Then, I learned how to wear dresses in the winter. I have loved this!

However, I have some serious wardrobe holes that have been ignored because of it. I own one pair of jeans that fits and is not too short. One pair. I would like to add at least 2 more, preferably three. Separate from this, I would like to try a pair of white jeans (Angie assures us that even pears can wear them!).

I also need to spruce up my loungewear. Comfortable, machine washable, and able to withstand a rambunctious toddler!

I am saying this so I have a little accountability. DH is no help as he would rather see me in dresses than jeans, and he thinks I look cute wearing his sweatpants and tee shirts.
