That helps to havd some “ outfit lab” ideas. I have other tops and belts and so could give more thought to the cohesion. I showed the stars for fun but, even I I don’t always do “ white”, I would probably target a somewhat lighter- colored top for less stark contrast. That is one drawback to branching out in colors for bottoms, and full- length pants especially, since they are more demanding of footwear— vamp and heel height have to work with hem width and have to hem to a heel height that may not work with future purchases. T Other options in tan or camel or similarly toned footwear is something I WOULD buy if when I could find it ( I have shoes in such colors already as that is my go- to neutral for bare- leg/ nude hose look), so I’m willing to try a capsule. Then, belts in other colors are not too hard to find. All the elements work in a complementary way and look great. I am having some doubts about the accessories used in picture two. To my eye, it would look better If the shoes and belt were a closer match in color tone. The current shoes are distracting. They work with the white top, so I think it has to do with the addition of the navy. I might also try it with a pencil skirt. I took a chance on the Vince in the cream color--a light color is  HEWI for me as it's so unforgiving in fit, compared to black--I have not had any success in a few year with light gray slacks or similar--but such a color makes a much bigger "change" of outfit if I can find it. these are not "high waist" on me so I lose something in legline length, but are nearly at waist and the fabric drape is good.   I actually was trying some Lewit cropped trousers I really ALMOST loved --see both Finds--but could not get the fit right in their crisp fabric. Trying these instead helped me see not to keep trying to make those work and to go, NEXT. These are not yet hemmed and I was too lazy to pin, and the drapey fabric won't stay turned up, so will have to imagine at PPL. I will have to just commit to a shoe heel height--of course "higher" would give longer legline, but then I'm stuck. Will likely use these PG oxfords in gray. -1 with Talbot's top which has double-fabric front for no see-through -3 with a different rayon T layered under a linen-blend jacket' -2 with stars T ; not sure I would do this at work, but  the stars are same as pants color.    I have a similar top with tiny cream leaf pattern and some others that would also be darkish top/light pants.   I think my EF "bone" knit cardi also works Showing with  cognac belt for Angie post but also have a kind of taupey-gray I like with it. What say you? Thanks Angie for ideas!
