The combination here is a classic complement.</p> <p>DD, who went to art school for painting tried to teach me some color theory so I would stop putting outfits together using color complements which look awful on me and wonderful on her, and instead use analogous colors, which work much better with my personal coloring. </p> <p>There are tons of color wheels available online showing examples and I tried to link some without success so I took blurry photos instead. </p> <p>Photo 1 are analogous colors. Photo two are color complements. You seem drawn to complements from what I can see from the combos you have selected for inspiration. I wish complements suited me and am truly jealous of people who can wear that level of color contrast. Angie is a good example of someone who wears color complements well. There are other types of color combinations, split complements and triads and probably more.... they go beyond my rudimentary understanding....... </p> <p>The last photo is a picture of DD putting her color theory chops to work.
