Let, you are right. I ended up using s custom color analyst and oft workred I still don't have a season, I was all over the place with black, greens, yellow and burgundy red. But it should be done again with my older coloring. I could do it myself, but it is hard to be objective enough.. It does reduce closet size and helps at shopping time. I have banned blue which does nothing for me ans colors with lots of blue in them...blue reds, blue blacks , greens with a blue cast, pinks,

I personally DIY'd my color. It was arduous but worth it to me, as I had no one nearby to professionally drape me. (I don't recommend it for the faint of heart; it's much simpler and easier to pay for a pro to do it.) I'm very glad I found my seasonal color home. I really think it's worth it for most people. Some people don't fit neatly into a category, as Joy mentioned in her experience. In that case, there are Caygill trained analysts who make custom palettes. That can be another great option.

I checked to see if a SciArt based analyst was available, just in case they had less of a wait list. (The system is somewhat different than House of Color but same premise and very good.) Surprisingly, they have zero analysts in Washington. I would book with a House of Color Color analyst. You can even ask if they have a cancellation wait list.

Every color analyst I know of has a waiting list these days. Color analysis has seemed to really take off. A friend of mine had her analysis done in Houston, Texas. She had to wait 4 months. The appointment before her was from out of town or state. The appointment after her was also from out of town. The analyst told her she is booked solid for months and can barely keep up. Some analysts will have less of a wait. But color analysis seems to be having a revival of sorts lately. So I would book now and just wait for the appointment.

Some people fit in easily but some like me do not fit in. I have never fit a season even close. Analyzing professionals have argued over my colors and come to no conclusion. Be careful.

Yes, they are very booked up. I'd make an appointment! Just for fun - you can take from their analysis what suits you and makes you comfortable.

I've decided to treat myself to an in-person color analysis, which I've thought would be fun ever since I read my mom's library copy of Color Me Beautiful back in the '80s. I did an Internet search and found a few House of Colour consultants in Seattle, but the few that have websites are booked way out or are waitlist-only. Would love to hear if anyone has a recommendation for getting your colors done in the Seattle area. TIA!
