That is indeed a peter pan collar. Great for your neck lengths and shoulder widths both AG and Kate.

AG, are you ever going to let us call you something else?

With my dainty shoulders and long neck, I'll wear collars that stand up for you - while you rock the peter pans

Okay, I am not alone! I know this shape is a Peter Pan collar, but I have also seen other coats (like pea coats) where the collar seems to lie more flat. If it sits too high on my nape, I find myself trying to shrug it back.

Or do I just sound weird?

I also avoid collars that "stand up". No button down shirts for me! Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a general name for them.

This is a "Peter Pan" collar and Angie has said that is suits ladies with shorter necks. How funny that you are naturally attracted to it for your neck. Very intuitive!

I think this particular one is called a peter pan collar. I have a similar body type and as much as I love wide, dramatic collars, or cool funnel necks, they don't really love me back I usually try to find narrower lapels on jackets because they are more flattering.

Because I have a short neck and wide shoulders, I prefer collars that lie flat, rather than standing higher on my neck. I don't know how to describe it, so here is a photo of a Boden coat that gives an idea...

http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/.....vGroupID=2

Anyone know what this is called? Or is it just a random style quirk?
